Leading the Charge

Who is it on the front line leading the charge to elect conservative Steve Lonegan to the U.S. Senate in New Jersey's special election?
The same as always, former Gov. Sarah Palin and Mark Levin. You may recall, it was Sarah Palin - more than anyone else - that made possible the election of Ted Cruz to the U.S. Senate; Cruz was largely outspent by his establishment-endorsed opponent and multimillionaire Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst. It was Sarah Palin's personal campaign appearances in Texas that offset the money advantage held by Dewhurst and the RINO Establishmentarians. If you haven't been paying close enough attention - or if you somehow still manage to believe Sarah Palin spoke the line "I can see Russia from my house" instead of Tina Fey on SNL - then you could be surprised to learn that no conservative public figure has more drawing power than Sarah Palin.

It should be noted, however, as Eion O'Carroll writes in the Christian Science Monitor (6/03/2011): "The basis for this line comes from a September 2008 interview with ABC News's Charles Gibson, who asked Palin what insights she had from her state being so close to Russia. She responded: 'They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.' This is true. As Slate has pointed out, on a clear day, those on the Alaskan island of Little Diomede can see the Russian island of Big Diomede, located across the International Date Line some two and a half miles away. Given that Big Diomede has no permanent population, the amount of foreign policy experience one can gain from staring at it is debatable. But you can see Russian soil while standing in Alaska." In fact, no conservative public figure is even close to Sarah Palin's level of charismatic appeal and pure conservative drawing power, nor can they hold a candle to her 20+ year record of public service or her track record of fierce and fearless fighting spirit in defense of personal liberty, free capital markets, and true constitutional conservatism along with the ideals, values, and principles that circumscribe it. If there's one thing Americans love and respect, it's a willingness to fight for what Americans' understand is a just and noble cause; that is our history, and certainly it must be our future if we are to survive as the Constitutional Republic our founders and framers established with their own "Lives, Fortunes, and Sacred Honor." The same fighting spirit is widely admired in Mark Levin; a true constitutional scholar, writer, and wisdom behind the microphone of the Mark Levin Show. His new book The Liberty Amendments is the most important read since Liberty and Tyranny; another of his extraordinary works in history, philosophy, and conservatism. Not to create a false impression, The Liberty Amendments isn't some haughty, inaccessible compilation of pseudo-intellectual gibberish; rather, it is a plainly worded - almost blunt, though painfully accurate - treatise of a uniquely honest and precise sort on the core problems we face today as Americans, and - most important of all - a proposal of how to actually right our ship of state by fixing the underlying root cause of government tyranny, interference, manipulation, and quest for absolute control. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Establishment will not lead or follow, nor will they voluntarily get out of the way. The simple truth is that the Establishment must be fought into irrelevance before we can reclaim the Republican Party. The only sane and reasonable way for this to happen is if we actively support constitutional conservative leaders that believe in our country as founded; have exhibited strong and consistent moral character; fully understand and are able to articulate how the Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights came into being; and explain why these philosophical concepts bequeathed to us by the Founders and Framers are the most unique system of government known to exist over the course of human history. The same concepts of moral character and the knowledge to educate others about our own remarkable national history applies to us - We the People - as well. If we're not promoting, explaining, and utilizing our founding documents to help others understand how much trouble we're in as a nation and how far removed we are from where we began, the best that may be said of our efforts is that we're wasting time; a commodity of which we are in rather short supply.
