The Brotherhood is trying to gain time to show their power

Morsi to CIA: Don’t let me down... I’m your servant!

Cairo, Egypt--The Muslim Brotherhood still dreams of the return of their ousted president Mohamed Morsi. Yet with 90% of their senior leaders arrested and facing trial, losing popular support and getting banned and regarded as a terrorist organization their return-to-power yearning seems far fetched.
U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry recently said that the Muslim Brotherhood had stolen the Egyptian revolution, and several reports confirm that the U.S. administration realize now that they were betting on the losing horse; that the new Egyptian government is the one to cooperate with--not the Muslim Brotherhood--if, that is, the U.S wants to maintain its interests in the Middle East. Morsi faces charges ranging from incitement to killing demonstrators, high treason, spying for foreign countries, covering up for registered terrorists, among other crimes. He will spend the rest of his life in prison, if he’s lucky enough not to receive a death sentence. Recent confidential reports mention that Morsi was in shock and suffering severe depression after Kerry’s comments. He feels that the Americans have begun to abandon him in favor of the new Egyptian government. Morsi sent a message through his prison visitors to the CIA saying: How could America and its security institutes abandon me, while I served them sincerely and cooperated with them during the last period to prevent conflicts in the Middle East?

Brotherhood leaders have started to communicate with their sympathizers and affiliates inside the U.S. administration to clarify the reasons behind John Kerry’s recent statements. A high source inside the Brotherhood said that the Brotherhood leaders in America asked the CIA: Why did you leave the Brotherhood and forsake them. Naturally, the source did not say what the response of the U.S. intelligence was. This coincides with reports of the intense disagreement between Susan Rice, the national security adviser and John Kerry regarding the way the United States should be dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood and with the new Egyptian government. Brotherhood leaders, members and sympathizers do not want to believe reality and continue their dream of the return of Morsi. Brotherhood activists organize demonstrations almost every day, despite the new laws regulating demonstrations giving police the right to respond forcefully when demonstrations turn violent. Police have arrested large numbers of Brotherhood members bringing them to trial. The Court has sentenced 22 girls belonging to the Brotherhood to six months each, due to their possession of weapons and Molotov cocktails in Alexandria and inciting violence against demonstrators opposed to the Brotherhood. As usual, the Brotherhood tried to deceive public opinion by pretending that the girls are victims of oppression of the new government backed by the army. The Muslim Brotherhood began using students and engaged youth to stage demonstrations with security forces on a daily basis throwing stones and Molotov cocktails. When security responded, the students fled into the university and then portrayed an image of security forces chasing them inside universities and preventing them from studying! A highly placed security source in exclusive statements to CFP said the Brotherhood has begun to refresh their relationships with activists, who participated in the Arab Spring revolution in 2011 in order to organize separate demonstrations against the new law and the new constitution. Their attempt is to portray mass opposition to the new government not the Brotherhood. The Source confirmed that police spotted several contacts between the Brotherhood and liberal activists out stirring up chaos in the streets, especially from the “April 6” Movement and the “Revolutionary Socialists”. This is why security arrested many activists and why the General Attorney is demanding others arrest too. The Brotherhood is trying to gain time to show their power. These continued protests contribute to the weakening of the Egyptian economy due to the loss of the tourists trade, investment opportunities and the continued closure of many factories and rapidly rising prices. After the loss of international forces to help them in the E.U or the U.S, the Brotherhood began betting the Egyptians themselves would go out and start the third revolution to topple the government. The Brotherhood count on Egyptians disliking the performance of the new government, its slow decision making and its failure to resolve many problems concerning security and the economy--now the biggest concern now for mainstream Egyptians as the main hope for them returning to seize power again. Egyptian blogger arrested in widening crackdown CAIRO (Reuters) - A prominent Egyptian blogger said on Tuesday he had been arrested, the latest political activist to be detained in a widening crackdown on dissent by the army-backed government.
