President Barack Obama, Prime Minister David Cameron and all go-along-to-get-along NATO nations delivered their first reality TV show on the real life terror of ISIS from Cardiff, Wales. At no other time in NATO history, has the difference between the glass-clinking global elite and the imperiled-by-their-own-governments common man been more glaring.
With thousands of innocents being slaughtered by YouTube meister terrorists, last week’s NATO gathering threw a lavish feast in Cardiff Castle and posed for pictures of western leaders looking skyward at an air show for a 22-plane flypast over Celtic Manor Resort as discussions over whether to ramp up airstrikes on ISIS militants running rampant in Iraq gained momentum. (Daily Mail, Sept. 5, 2014)
Watching the RAF Typhoon jet led fighters, including two U.S. F-15s, a Canadian F-18, as well as planes from Poland, Germany, France, Denmark, Portugal and the Netherlands, is as close as the Western leaders will ever have to get to ISIS, unlike the thousands of average citizens being slaughtered by them.
Obama and Cameron must have been counting on the drama of the air show in pressing fellow NATO leaders to confront the 'brutal and poisonous' ISIS terror group that is wreaking havoc in Iraq and Syria – and urging regional partners like Jordan and Turkey to join the effort as well. No boots on the ground, but plenty of gas in the air, will forever best describe the Wales Hollywood style NATO summit. Though getting lots of stage competition from Cameron, the biggest star of this ongoing reality TV show is Obama, who dishonestly maintains al Qaeda is on the run. Al Qaeda is not on the run, and ISIS is only one of its offshoots.

No boots on the ground, but plenty of gas in the air

“We are going to degrade, and ultimately destroy ISIS,” Obama said, “in the same way we’ve gone after al-Qaeda, and his Secretary of State John Kerry made a call to arms as the NATO summit in Wales entered its second day.” (Daily Mail) How do you stop the terror of ISIS with no boots on the ground, no action of any kind and only promises of a still nameless, Kerry-described ‘core coalition’? Obama took full credit for the killing of bin Laden in Pakistan by a team of Navy SEALS, on May 2, 2011. No one outside the Obama administration ever got to see pictures of bin Laden’s corpse which was accorded a full Muslim burial conducted at sea, but the entire world can view YouTubes of the brutal beheadings of American journalists Jim Foley and Steven Sotloff. The pictures of bin Laden’s corpse were kept from public display because they were deemed too horrific. Were they any worse than the ISIS beheadings that went viral on the Internet? Was there a moment of silence for Foley and Sotloff as NATO leaders, hosted by Obama and Cameron, sipped champagne and nibbled chef’s goodies at Cardiff Castle? Obama, who is coming off as a conquering hero for killing bin Laden is conning western civilization by repeating that al Qaeda is on the run.
“The death of leader Osama bin Laden did not end the spread of al-Qaeda, say analysts. It may have even helped it. (USA Today, Jan 8, 2014) “The chaos of the Arab Spring revolutions, al-Qaeda's shift to a more bottom-up structure and a perceived pullback of U.S. influence in the Middle East are behind the spread of America's No. 1 enemy in the world, say several analysts who study the core group in Pakistan and affiliates who swear allegiance to it. “The latest and most stark example came this week in Iraq, where al-Qaeda militants seized control of government buildings and districts of Fallujah and Ramadi, cities that were liberated from jihadist control by American troops during the Iraq War. "This is a very worrisome development for the entire region," says Aviv Oreg, former head of the Israel Defense Force's military intelligence on al-Qaeda and global jihad. “The killing of bin Laden in Pakistan on May 2, 2011, by a team of Navy SEALs ended the threat from the man who orchestrated the 9/11 attacks, which killed more than 3,000 Americans, and other terror bombings in the Middle East. “But it did not represent the end of al-Qaeda. The Islamist terror group that bin Laden formed in the early 1990s to rid the Middle East of Western influence and usher in global Islam based on his stringent Wahhabist beliefs has spread and notched notable successes recently. “GAINING NEW FOOTHOLDS In Algeria, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has conducted several attacks, including on a gas plant in January 2013 that left more than 35 hostages dead. Somalia's al-Shabab controls swaths of the country and threatens to retake the capital despite the efforts of an African force backed by the Pentagon.”
Obama boasts he has a ‘developing strategy’ to ‘ultimately destroy ISIS just like ‘we’ve gone after Al Qaeda’. How, when his administration continues to allow all manner of foreigners, including terrorists, in over the U.S. southern border, and when he has banned the use of the term “radical Islamist” from the media and public lexicon? Both Obama and Cameron insisted American ground troops won’t be making serious inroads into Syria or Iraq. But Obama insisted that a 'developing strategy' will not require action from American soldiers in Syria, where ISIS has its strongest presence. 'We will not be placing U.S. ground troops to try to control the areas that are part of the conflict in Syria,' Obama said during a press conference following a NATO summit in Wales. 'I don't think that's necessary to accomplish our goal. ... The moderate coalition there is something that we can work with .... they have been to some degree outgunned and outmanned, and that's why it's important for us to work with our friends and allies to support them more effectively.' (Daily Mail)
“NATO, Obama said, had agreed during the conference to provide 'security and humanitarian assistance to those who are on the front lines.' “Recounting how America achieved a temporary hold on al-Qaeda, largely during the Bush administration, he advised a similar course against ISIS. 'You initially push them back, you systematically degrade their capabilities, you narrow their scope of action, you slowly shrink the .... territory that they control. You take out their leadership,' he counted off. 'And over time, they no longer can carry out attacks ... the way they could.' ‘The goal has to be to dismantle them.'”
Make that the same Bush administration his administration scapegoats for the many wrongs going on six years after the retirement of President George W. Bush. Incredibly, in order to dismantle ISIS, the Obama regime is counting on the army of Iran to come to the world’s rescue. “Earlier in the day, Secretary of State John Kerry issued a dramatic call to arms against militants from ISIS, urging world leaders to join a 'core coalition' to end their murderous rampage through Iraq, but ruled out putting 'boots on the ground.' (Daily Mail) He spoke less than an hour after NATO leaders looked to the skies for a flyover by a fleet of 22 warplanes from nine countries in a dramatic grandstand of the alliance's awesome aerial might. 'We need to attack them in ways that prevent them from taking over territory, to bolster the Iraqi security forces and others in the region who are prepared to take them on, without committing troops of our own,' U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told a meeting of 10 nations. Obviously I think that's a red line for everybody here: no boots on the ground.' ‘And in what could prove not just a major turning point in the war against ISIS but also an unprecedented sea-change in America's relations with Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei answered Kerry's call from Tehran on Friday, ordering his army to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with U.S., Kurdish and Iraqi forces against the extremist horde.  ‘According to the BBC, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, sanctioned top commander General Qasem Soleimani – who leads Iran's Quds Force, an elite overseas unit of the Revolutionary Guards – to work with U.S. military chiefs to defeat their common enemy.  ‘Iran has traditionally opposed U.S. operations in Iraq, an Iranian ally, criticizing the White House for authorizing airstrikes only when Americans came under threat. ‘However, Iran's foreign ministry today denied Iran would co-operate with the U.S. against ISIS, claiming the BBC report was incorrect’. Earlier, David Cameron was first to answer Kerry's rallying cry as he said NATO leaders condemn the 'barbaric and despicable acts' carried out by ISIS extremists who have already publicly beheaded two U.S. journalists. 'We are united in condemnation of these barbaric and despicable acts... Their threats will only harden our resolve to stand up for our values,' Cameron said on the second day of the NATO summit. Under the tragic circumstances, NATO’s flyover is a joke. Meanwhile, to world innocents being crucified, buried alive and beheaded, including ISIS hostages under threat of being next in line: Don’t worry, big-talking Barack Obama and David Cameron are coming to save you.
