Since Trudeau Jr. became leader of the third place Liberal Party of Canada, the media, with the exception of Sun News, have been giving the guy a free ride. Much like Barack Obama, he can do no wrong in spite of the fact that with the exception of his hair, he can’t seem to get anything right.
Canada’s two main political parties have always maintained close ties with their American counterparts. While the Liberals sometimes whine, yell and scream that the Conservatives are being advised by those terrible neo-cons south of the border, Democrat Party strategist James Carville has come to Canada so often he should be awarded honorary Canadian citizenship.
There could be nothing worse for the boy wonder than having someone like Hillary Clinton come to Canada and take positions diametrically opposed to his. But this has happened twice in the last six months and it cannot be making the adults in the Liberal Party feel very good. Despite his glorious start, recent polls have seen the Conservatives gain ground against the party that was once known as the Natural Governing Party.
A few days ago, Trudeau was speaking at a conference of Canada 2020, a progressive think tank. When speaking about Canada’s possible military involvement to combat the Islamic State, the wannabe prime minister replied, “Why aren’t we talking about the kind of humanitarian aid that Canada can and must be engaged in rather than trying to whip out our CF-18s and show them how big they are? It just doesn’t work like that in Canada.”
The worst thing about his joke containing a sexual innuendo was that no one who is old enough to have gone through puberty would find it funny. In making that comment, the child was insulting the members of the Canadian Forces and was especially disingenuous to those who have or will put their lives on the line defending their country.
Chalk one up for Clinton
And by the way Justin, Canada does work like that. Canadians have used military force in World War I and World War II and through to Afghanistan.
After Trudeau’s speech, Hillary Clinton breezed into town and spoke before the same think tank. Clinton said that steps must be taken to counter the propaganda of ISIS that leads to its successful recruitment. And while trying not to inject herself in the faux debate being held in the House of Commons as to whether Canada should participate in air strikes, the former Secretary of State talked about how the United States would welcome the participation of Canada, one of the US’s closes allies.
Chalk one up for Clinton.
This is not the first time Clinton has showed up the immature little brat who leads Canada’s third party. Ever since being elected Liberal leader, Trudeau has defined himself as the champion of the middle class, a bunch of Canadians that Trudeau has never been a part of himself.
Never being a part of the middle class is one thing but Trudeau doesn’t have a clue what the middle class is. When asked to define it, the boy with the nice hair said people who work for a living are middle class while those who live off their savings or other monies are not.
In other words, a CEO who works and is paid millions a year in salary and bonuses is middle class while a retired person living off his or her pension is not. If there wasn’t a chance this immature little brat could actually become prime minister, this would be downright funny.
Trudeau goes on and on and on about how hard done by Canada’s middle class is. Again it was up to Clinton to set him straight.
Canada’s middle class is doing very well thank you very much thank you Justin. In May, Clinton made a speech in which she bemoaned the fact Canada’s middle class is doing much better than the American middle class is doing. According to Clinton, the middle class in Canada have higher incomes, live longer, and work shorter hours for more pay. Clinton also spoke about how there is less income inequality in Canada than in the United States. She is right but that won’t stop Trudeau from moaning and making a central platform around things he knows nothing about.
Clinton and Trudeau have a lot in common. Both are committed lefties who want to be the next leader of their respective countries. If Clinton becomes the next president of the United States at least she will be much better than her predecessor. It’s unlikely a Prime Minister Trudeau could be any better than his predecessor; he wouldn’t even be any better than Obama is.
Should Trudeau wind up as prime minister, hopefully Clinton will still be around. Someone needs to set him straight.
