The new 114th Congress must be dogged by their constituents to follow through with the demands of the People whom they were elected to serve. Half measures won't do.

Just what we expected: backpedaling the Congressional win

Election night wasn't even over before the pundits began piecemealing the republican win into acceptable bite-size legislation that the new Congress should pass to avoid rocking the boat. What is wrong with this analysis?
  • Fact--Americans are fed up with the dismal economic performance resulting from President Obama's failed shovel-ready and handout policies. (Stimulus, Cash for Clunkers, welfare reform's reform, HARP, etc.)
  • Fact--The country is appalled by the crippling increase of their health insurance premiums and deductibles along with losing providers due to the president's unfulfilled Affordable Care Act promises.
  • Fact--Citizens are tired of the administration's destruction of energy production: demonization of coal, fracking and oil drilling while favoring "green" subsidies meant to break the bank rather than promote reliable energy sources.
  • Fact--The electorate is tired of being targeted by their own government: IRS, NSA, Justice, EPA, VA, Homeland Security, ICE, etc. If it has an acronym it's now the enemy.
  • Fact--Voters are exhausted with illegal border-hopping of well over a hundred thousand indigent children, families, individuals and murderous gang members this year alone.
And this is just a partial list of the administration and Congress' offenses.

The People have spoken loudly and clearly that major legislation passed over the last six years be overturned, removed or completely repealed

There is good reason why Harry Reid was just booted from his stranglehold leadership of the Senate, where he has refused to bring to the floor any one of approximately 300 bills passed by the House, close to 200 that were bi-partisan. The People have spoken loudly and clearly that major legislation passed over the last six years be overturned, removed or completely repealed. They did not vote in a new Congress to backpedal in an attempt to appease the very administration that has disregarded their rights of free speech, religious expression and enjoyment of private property which includes their very bodies. Getting down to brass tacks, 2008 saw a manipulated anger against the republican-held Congress with the engineered crash of the mortgage market that forced the passage of TARP--all because legislators thought they were taking a soft route to assuage the electorate's ire. It didn't work. The country ended up shackled to an untried, unknown entity in the personage of Barack Obama, neƩ Barry Sotero, who had no accessible history (which is still sealed). His ingrained belief in America's evil nature was finally unmasked the first day he took office with his determination to close Guantanamo Bay detention facility and unleash terrorism against his enemy: Us. Although Obama hasn't actually closed Gitmo yet, he has succeeded in loosing trained fanatical Islamic jihadis back to their roots from which the West's latest nemesis, ISIS, has sprung. The result of 2008 knee-jerk politics? Immediate passage of Stimulus, a pork-filled omnibus budget which has yet to be succeeded due to the Senate's unwillingness to pass a proper budget since 2009, and the ultimate condemnation of American know-how and innovation--the Affordable Care Act that the majority of citizens despised even before the super-majority democrat Congress passed the unread 2000-plus page bill. All one needs do is review the polls from 2009 leading up to the vote on Christmas Eve. Talk about a slap in the face of the Faithful as its unveiling has proven over the last four years. Not that innumerable observers didn't raise the warning flags, ChangingWind included. Since that time Americans have experienced more and more of the consequences of this partisan president's wish to control the populace through lies about how the legislation will provide universal healthcare for some 30 million uninsured who, hello, still can't get coverage. We have now arrived at this point, immediately following the turnover of the Congress, where the People are making their will known... dismantle and destroy (to borrow the president's language) Obamacare which is smothering all the People. But will this new Congress have the chutzpah to carry out the wishes of three-quarters of Americans who just want it gone? Or hear the vast majority of voters demanding closure of the borders to indigents, terrorists and Ebola? Or those who want to freely develop the United States' energy future which means a stronger economy? Listening to the punditry soberly dissecting possibilities before the races were even finalized, if Congress attends to their shortsighted advice it doesn't look that way. Late Tuesday night the talking heads from Krauthammer to Rove were admonishing the just-elected legislators to test the president's resolve by delivering legislation in scraps. Cut out the individual mandate here, or pass the Keystone pipeline or part of immigration reform there. Folly. Such a piecemeal plan will not safeguard the 2016 election for a republican to sashay into office. Bet on it if the democrat strategists were agreeing with such a plan. In a lame attempt (pun intended) to grift a mandate from the ether, Obama responded to the republican win by saying that he "heard the two-thirds" of voters who didn't bother to go to the polls. I wonder if he "heard" those millions who didn't cast votes in 2012 seeing no choice between the president and Romney? No one believes that President Obama is not entrenched in his agenda and would go down in flames if that is what it takes. Not because he thinks he will, but because he believes in his invincibility. Narcissists generally do.

Obama will continue to ignore authority until he is thoroughly chastened

Telling the president to "stop it" when it comes to signing unlawful executive orders will also have no effect. He, like any recalcitrant child, will continue to ignore authority until he is thoroughly chastened, most likely with a switch. If the punishment for misbehaving isn't severe enough, nothing will change. This means that the Congress cannot back down and must enforce the Constitution without regard for their political futures. They were sent to Washington for a reason, to rein in the lawlessness of the executive and free the People from the encroachment of government regulation that has placed them back in bondage. Should there be an argument as to the veracity of the last statement, simply mull over how much less one is "allowed" to say about faith, rights of the unborn, any religion except Christianity, non-heterosexual relationships, climate change, or virtually anything that just might offend someone, anyone or their pet snake. Every action or word spoken has become fodder for a potential lawsuit. And the probable plaintiff? Our own government. The new 114th Congress must be dogged by their constituents to follow through with the demands of the People whom they were elected to serve. Half measures won't do.
