On Monday, Internet giant World Net Daily was offline.
“The popular website was offline for just a couple of hours as well as American site World Net Daily but fans were quick to voice their despair. “An error message read: "The webpage is not available" while another read "unknown host." “Readers rushed to social media to join the speculation over the reason behind the website's inaccessibility. “Jon Passatino wrote on Twitter: "Drudge report has been down for about an hour now. Site maintenance or possible attack?" “Another use wrote: "I see a ton of news reports about an impending massive malware attack and now @DRUDGE DrudgeReport is down" “The outage comes after the news site posted images of Madonna topless on the site leading some fans to believe that the images, like recent Kim Kardashian images had 'broken the internet'. “One wrote: "When I went to bed @DRUDGEREPORT was down.Work up to get some water… Drudge is still down. Now I can't sleep! #DrudgeReport" “It came just hours after the FBI warned hackers had used malware to launch a cyberattack in the US following a significant security breach at Sony Pictures Entertainment last week. “The story was highlighted on the Drudge Report on Monday. “Matt Drudge, owner and created of the Drudge Report has yet to comment on the outage. “It is believed the site went down for just two hours before going live again at 11am GMT.”Notice how websites who are Big Government advocates never go offline. We live in a world where millions, worried about being spied on by government agencies such as the NSA, IRS, FBI, DHS, CIA et al, stopped participating online more than a year ago. Hoping to regain lost privacy, many more are trading their Smart Phones in for more than a decade old flip phones. Has the current American administration found a way to short circuit shutting down he Internet without having to go down the road of unpopular Net Neutrality? Just asking.
