Harf's ISIS job plan based on "opiate of the masses" concept

Last week, State Department Spokesperson Marie Harf hawked the administration's rationale behind individuals joining ISIS and other terrorist Islamic groups: they are poor and crave nothing more than a good job. The concept is as old as Karl Marx (older, actually, if you go back to ancient gnostic teachings) who said that religion is "the opium of the people." Evidently, the Obama administration is still reliant on the communist explanation of why one turns to religion, even one with the barbaric, murderous practices of an ISIS.
The educated elitists that populate the president's staff have thus arrived at the obvious answer to the dilemma of ISIS--create jobs for the poor unfortunates who turn to religion when all they really need is work. Setting aside what they learned at university to utilize real sense, they should consider facts that apply to eastern cultures as well... lacking truth about what is right, immorality will ascend in power.

We wonder why westerners flock to jihad. Really?

--June 24, 2014 How it can be beyond rational people to understand why lost youth run to join a cause, even one as hateful and murderous as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), is the real mystery. Listening to experts on the Islamist jihadi movement that is surging through Syria, Iraq and skirting the borders of Jordan, Turkey and Iran, which has its own variety of fundamentalism running the country, they appear to be having a difficult time fathoming why western young people would flock to a terrorist flag. The answer is not baffling at all.

Examine modern culture that has been foisted upon western nations. From the time children enter public schoolrooms in Europe or America they are received into a moral vacuum. It has become anathema to teach ethics based on what made America great, the belief in God, more specifically, Christian values that were woven into this nation's fabric at its inception. Education has replaced teaching and, no, the two are not interchangeable. The first word refers to guiding how someone should think and the second guides a student on how to engage their brains to think and reason for themselves. The definitions do not split hairs. They characterize the change that has occurred in classroom philosophy over more than fifty years on our shores. Not living in Europe, the drift from teaching to education can only be assumed as far as this opinion is concerned. But what has education to do with young people joining with terrorists and thinking it's cool to wear a t-shirt emblazoned with Che's iconic image or the emblem and weaponry representing ISIS' bloody conquests? It is the draw of "purpose." It doesn't matter to thoughtless youngsters (who are educated to be so) what the purpose is as long as they can grip it as substantial in their otherwise judgment-free world. The question is why go to such extremes to grasp hold of a purpose, particularly one so abhorrent that beheading and crucifying enemies is commonplace? The reason is that their lives are empty of purpose because good purpose has been removed from the curriculum of life. Youth in America have been separated from morals and the ability to discern right from wrong. Because instructing our children with a simple moral code based on Christian ethics that counters the amoral culture foisted on public schools, students now grow up without guideposts. That is, unless parents make a concerted effort to direct their children with knowledge of what is right and what is not, untried youth are on their own. It can be argued that the diversion of accumulating goods and fulfilling physical desires has become the purpose for existence, being guided by wants rather than needs. However, it is a diversion from what a person really craves--the filling of a selfless hole. Tragically, the ISIS and Talibans of this world that vociferously cry their "purpose," however cruel and ruthless their creed, are embraced by the aimless, uncertain youth that seek a reason for their existence. The only way to counter this pestilence of evil foaming over swathes of this earth is to re-introduce plain Christian morality into homes, schools and media. Allow the death culture to fade away by again providing purpose to our youth. Proverbs 22:6 makes it plain where we have left the path of judgment and allowed non-judgmentalism to overtake western society, leaving our youth without understanding of what is good purpose for their lives... "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." The answer is as simple as that. Provide Godly vision and purpose that is fulfilling and our young ones will not be tempted to seek the brand of "justice" offered by the unjust and merciless bands of vicious outlaws.
