Obama’s cabinet appointments are frightening to our security

In other columns, I have written that my thoughts on Obama are that he is dangerous and perhaps, fatally so for our country. No small amount of evidence of this predilection of our incoming President has been provided in a column by the canny Dick Morris and Eileen McGann titled “Gutting Security: O’s Dangerous Anti-Terror Picks” which appeared online and in the New York Post on January 08, 2009.

Morris’s views are so close to those I have shared and hold as to be scary. It’s as if Obama is bound and determined to make things ever so easy for any terrorists with subjugation of America in mind reinforcing my thoughts of his possible collaboration with persons who are anti-American in their motives. I have even suggested that perhaps Obama had been chosen to be “planted” here in America as a very young boy, to assimilate into the population, marry, raise a family and practice being an American until the time was right to move him into high placed positions with ease. Seriously anti-American people like George Soros who could have been the financial benefactor and others like Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers, could all have been collusive with these plans. The latter three were all older with Chicago connections and were potential mentors. Morris outlines some of Obama’s recently announced appointments to positions of criticality involving our nation’s security and defense in Homeland Security, Justice Department and the CIA saying they “indicate a virtual abandonment of the War on Terror.” That tells me that Obama is not interested in protecting us from terrorists and that he plans to make it easier for them. Look at these choices of Obama and Morris’s assessments: Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, Governor of Arizona, “whose only experience has been with the US-Mexican border.” Head of Justice Department Attorney General, Eric Holder who while in the Clinton Administration “took the lead in (getting Clinton to) pardon FALN terrorists” in spite of 120 bomb attacks against the United States. And now Leon Panetta for Director of the CIA our ‘super-spy’ agency, “is as liberal as they come, and culminates liberals' 35-year crusade to take over the agency, humble its operatives and rein in its operations.” “Panetta will, presumably, curb such practices as waterboarding, rendition and warrantless wiretapping. So we won't gather much intelligence – (while) over at Justice, Obama is naming four liberals to staff the agency, each determined to rein in effective intelligence-gathering. “Professor Dawn Johnsen of Indiana University Law School, to head the Office of Legal Counsel. She… took issue with President Bush's efforts to keep us safe. (In her book) "What's a President To Do: Interpreting the Constitution in the Wake of the Bush Administration Abuses." Presumably, she'll bring back the days of the wall between criminal and intelligence investigations, which led to our failure to examine the computer of "20th hijacker" Zacharias Moussaoui, which contained wire-fund-transfer information on the other hijackers. “…Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe, who taught Elena Kagan, the new solicitor general, predicted that she and Johnsen would "freshly re-examine some of the positions the previous administration has taken. “…David Ogden as deputy attorney general and Thomas Perrelli as associate AG, bring back Clinton/Reno Justice Department retreads. Both participated eagerly in the constraints on intelligence-gathering that left us so vulnerable on 9/11.” In my opinion, Morris has pointed out Obama’s very decided inclinations that terrorists will NOT be surveilled, humbled or tracked either when illegally entering this country or during their stay while they are here. Not very comforting to know the incoming president’s opinion of these people is so high as to not worry about what they might do to harm us, as they have sworn to do. This should warm the hearts of those fuzzy-headed liberals who so enthusiastically voted for Mr. Obama. At least now they know what his “Change” was all about. These final words of Dick Morris, a man who knows the Democrats’ thinking better than many inside that party, are bone-chilling and hopefully not totally correct: “Bush's legacy shows one clear achievement: He kept us safe after 9/11. Now his successor's policies are about to eradicate that singular achievement. The liberals will, of course, all cheer these appointments and the policies they'll pursue once in office, but these appointments make it frighteningly more likely that we will, indeed, be hit again.” May we be blessed with some strong conservative leaders who will force our Congress to be more attentive to our security needs and introduce successful legislation to that end.
