Loud and Clear Politics For a Change

The candidacy of Donald Trump is about much more than The Donald. It is about anger, frustration, dissatisfaction and resentment. It is about the growing anger that nothing gets done, frustration over a deaf and obese Federal Government, dissatisfaction when they do try to accomplish something and resentment when they don’t care when they are found incompetent. It is about a government that asserts that it knows best when it doesn’t. It is about insisting everything is on track when we know that it is off track. It is about the mainstream news media that has taken sides and has partnered with government to dictate how we should behave and think. It is about cherry- picking news stories that boost your agenda or vice versa. It is about corruption at the highest levels of government, the media and their business cronies.

If one was to personify the campaign it would sound like this: To the political class that promises everything and delivers nothing:
“We are tired of you making a lifetime career of politics. We are fed up with laws you pass that burden us but exempt you. We are sick of your pandering to special interests and ignoring us. We are not impressed with your smooth words and ineffective leadership. We don’t like your backroom deals with entities we neither like nor trust. We don’t want you to tell us how to live or what to believe. We know right from wrong and we are especially tired of your political correctness crap.”
To the mainstream news media once held to the highest standards:
“We no longer trust you to give us unbiased news. You seem as interested in making news as reporting it. We are not going to take any more of your high- brow, “hard-news” programs that can’t report a straightforward news story without making some snide comment. We don’t like it when you bow to every person or group that feels the slightest offense and give them voice. We hate it when you decide what the new social norm is and pressure your audience and government to conform. You disdain our God, our values, traditions and culture. We made this country great, not you. You think you are better than us, but we know you are not. Oh, and we hate your politically correct baloney as well.”
Donald Trump has signaled the end of the girly-man. The end of weak and ineffective leadership. The end of patience with no purpose. The end of vague and ambiguous politicians. The end of the trial balloon. Mr. Trump has given us voice and a reason to hang in there. No teleprompters. No more taking it on the chin. No giving in or backing down. Loud and clear politics for a change. Trump may even, single-handedly, save Christmas. Whether you love him or hate him, thank him!
