Who knew that the same people who promote suicide bombings, honor killings, genital mutilation and beheadings are actually frail and delicate flowers whose tender sensibilities are easily bruised?

One can barely get through a day without hearing about yet another example of some unconscionable infidel conduct causing a sensitive Islamist to be “deeply offended”. In May of 2008 a Muslim student at St. Cloud University threatened to kill a service dog. The offending canine was specially trained to assist his owner who suffers from seizures and was clearly identified as a service dog. The Somali Muslim student found the presence of the black lab “deeply offensive”. Showing the type of moral courage we have come to expect from our universities, school administrators called it a “misunderstanding”. A Muslim civil rights group sued Abercrombie & Fitch on behalf of a teenager who claims she was denied a job because she wears a hijab. Get that? Denied a job. They were not even claiming she was fired from a job based on discrimination. Nope. Apparently Muslims have an unassailable and exclusive right to get any job for which they apply. Let’s keep in mind that Abercrombie & Fitch is a clothing store and a high end one at that. I daresay they won’t hire non Muslims who dress stupidly either. In January of this year a suit was filed in a Texas federal district court by a former IRS employee. Her complaint? The haters at the IRS refused to allow her to wear a sword to work. No, seriously. Granted nobody likes the IRS but even I have to take their side on this one. One of the loudest warning shots across the bow came by way of the notorious Flying Imams whose suspicious behavior caught the attention of some US Airways (my new favorite airline) passengers who did the responsible thing in a post 9/11 world and shared their concerns with the airline staff. Rather than be awarded the keys to the city and having elementary schools named after them, the passengers quickly found themselves on the wrong end of yet another CAIR induced lawsuit because, you guessed it. The emotionally frail imams were “deeply offended”. In a stunning move prior to the collective lobotomization of republicans, congress solved the problem by passing a shield law to protect alert citizens who have the courage to report suspicious behavior on public transportation. In March of 2008 New Orleans suit was filed by an unarguably credible group named “Council to Heal Islamic Pain in the Satanic United States” against a liquor store owner. The owner’s insensitivity and lack of appreciation for diversity was demonstrated by his unreasonable and clearly anti Islamic rule that he no longer would allow people to walk into his liquor store with their faces covered. While a ruling in favor of the Muslim woman would be welcomed by armed robbers everywhere, it is a bit perplexing that Muslims are hanging around in liquor stores since the consumption of alcohol is expressly verboten under Sharia. As Robert Spencer points out in Stealth Jihad some Islamofascists discovered during the Bush years that destroying the Great Satan militarily might not be as easy as they had originally thought. Hence the soft jihad has been launched. The mission is to use our open society and legal system against us. Extremist front groups like CAIR have filed innumerable law suits against businesses and individuals for the purpose of shutting down any criticism of Islam. The Dutch, being light years ahead of us socially have declared open warfare on free speech to the point of criminalizing it. Heroic Dutch parliament member Geert Wilders has been arrested and criminally charged for making a film critical of Islam. January 21, 2009 the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam ordered the criminal prosecution of Wilders for “incitement of hatred and discrimination”. The courageous Wilders is standing by his statements and has said he already lost his freedom in 2004 when he was forced by threats from Muslims in Holland and abroad to retain twenty four hour police protection. Closer to home author Mark Steyn was the victim of hate crimes cases brought by the Canadian Islamic Congress. His crime? Steyn said things that “deeply offended” Muslims. My neighbor has a gee gaw on his house that looks to me exactly like a minaret on top of a mosque. I find this gee gaw “deeply offensive”. To date neither the HOA nor ACLU has been responsive to my complaints. Imagine the hue and cry if someone put up a cross or Star of David.
