States File Suit Against Obama Transgender Directive

Wichita Falls, TX - Eleven states filed suit in Texas against the unlawful Obama Transgender directive which threatens the revocation of federal educational funding unless K-12 school districts adopt policies that permit students to use private facilities according to the sex with which they "identify" regardless of whether that sex corresponds to their biological sex. These policies allow boys to use the girls' restrooms and other private facilities by merely saying that they "identify" as a girl.
"I am glad to see the states pushing back against the unlawful directive from the Obama administration. With this directive, President Obama has refused to obey Congress, which has rejected every attempt to add 'gender identity' into the law. Obama not only tried to go around Congress, he now tries to usurp the rights of the states and micromanage every public school in America," said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. "The lawsuit by the states is well crafted. It will embolden other states and school districts to resist this Obama tyranny," said Staver. Liberty Counsel has posted on its website a list of incidents where men have abuse these policies and entered women's restrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Liberty Counsel is working with many schools, cities, and counties regarding the transgender issue.
