"There's another reason not to pass it. Sean Trende does a very good job here of explaining why, without Barack Obama on the ballot, conservatives could actually win more elections with greater racial polarization. Imagine there's no black candidate driving up black turnout, imagine the Hispanic vote splitting the way it does now, but imagine more loyalty from white voters to the GOP—a real trend from 2010 and 2012. Republicans could hold that coalition and win the White House into the 2040s. "I don't see any compelling reason why these trends can't continue," writes Trende, "and why a Republican couldn't begin to approach Ronald Reagan's 30-point win with whites from 1984 in a more neutral environment than Reagan enjoyed. It's not necessarily the most likely scenario, but it strikes me as more likely than a Democrat winning 90 percent of the Hispanic vote."And indeed the Hispanic vote has been over hyped all along. Mitt Romney lost in 2012 not because he lost the Hispanic vote but because he lost the Conservatives, too many of them at any rate. According to the Pew Center:
"Latinos voted for President Barack Obama over Republican Mitt Romney by 71% to 27%, according to an analysis of exit polls by the Pew Hispanic Center, a Project of the Pew Research Center."Romney lost handily to them - despite being amenable to an amnesty. John McCain, Mr. amnesty himself, did only marginally better at 31% of the vote. Romney lost 18% of self identified conservatives - a massive loss of what should have been his strongest demographic. Bear in mind the Hispanic vote was only 7% of the electorate. This means Walter Mitty took over a third of the Hispanic vote, one third of 7% or a little under 3% of the electorate. Even if Romney won half of the Hispanic vote - more than any Republican ever - he would have lost in the Electoral College 283 electoral votes to 255. See Rush Limbaugh's analysis of the election. Mitt lost because he lost a lot of white conservatives. Donald Trump is a guy used to analyzing this sort of data and can come to the same conclusion. Trump's plan is to win the base of the GOP - and to win the lost Reagan Democrats. He figures he doesn't need the Hispanics, and I suspect he wants to prove to America that this coddled demographic is far less powerful than they have been given credit for being. Trump knows there are more conservatives than Hispanics. And he has consciously chosen to be the voice of the silent majority rather than the # of Mexico. The consulting class and the RINO wing are appalled; they have used this kowtowing to the Hispanics as a tool to promote amnesty and to move the GOP to the center. Trump is befouling their best laid plans. But is what Trump said wrong? Well, first off, I would argue that any judge who was appointed by Barack Obama (as the judge in the Trump U. case was) is biased. No question. Obama is a radical and a revolutionary and he will not appoint someone who will be impartial. But there's more; Judge Gonzalo Curiel is not just of Mexican decent but is an active member of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association. La Raza (The RACE) is a group dedicated to the ReConquista, meaning they want to steal America's southwest and give it to Mexico or create Aztlan, a new Hispanic nation. Curiel was on the board of La Raza that awarded scholarships to illegal aliens. It should be pointed out, he openly advocates lawbreaking while sitting on the bench. Former G.W. Bush AG Alberto Gonzales has come to Trump's defense it should be pointed out. And isn't this what we have heard from the Left for decades, that a black man can't get a fair shake in front of a white judge, say? Weren't we told that the Grand Jury process in the Mike Brown shooting was flawed because the prosecutor was a white guy? Hasn't this been the liberal mantra for a long time? Why is it not true where Trump is concerned? In point of fact Mr. Trump is making his allegiance clear to the Great Shafted, the majority of Americans who are eternally held guilty for the sins of their Fathers and who simply want a fair shake. America has become a nation of balkanized groups, with minorities and sub-cultures granted special status. Those not honored with membership in the protected classes are always given the short end of the stick, are punished, are ordered to take it and shut up. Trump, by going after the judge in this case, makes himself a member of this silent majority of the punished. It will in fact pick up votes for Mr. Trump. What is more, the racism charge is deplorable when one considers that Hillary Clinton just called Trump a Nazi because he has German heritage. This despite Hillary's association with Huma Abedin and other Muslim Brotherhood-linked people. The Muslim Brotherhood modeled itself on the National Socialist German Worker's Party. So if you are Hispanic or claim Native American status you are off limits but if you have northern European heritage you can be ridiculed, mocked, insulted, accused of monstrosity. Sounds fair to me! While I think Herr Drumpf (his family name) should be more diplomatic to a degree, his wanton violation of political correctness is more than a little refreshing. And who cares what the RINO wing thinks? Newt Gingrich may have engineered the GOP revolution in '94, but so did John Boehner, and both tossed their principles as soon as convenient. Remember, it was Gingrich who fashioned the new strategy of "duck and cover" in the 1998 elections where the GOP hunkered down to avoid bad press. It was a failure then, with Clinton's party picking up seats in an off-year election (something almost unheard of) and yet the GOP adopted it as their fundamental battle plan, largely because they wanted to stay in office rather than actually do what they had promised. Gingrich was the architect of that plan, and his advice is nothing but a duck-and-cover strategy for Trump. Oh, and Gingrich lost in the primaries when he ran, so why is his advice worth taking? I am not a Trump fan, and I am most unhappy with his getting the nomination, but in these things he is exactly where I want him to be. He's destroying the leprosy of Political Correctness, something created to shut the mouths of the silent majority and to intimidate Republicans in Washington. It has reigned far too long. I say, call out the fake Indians and Mexican judges! It's time Americans take a stand!
