The 2nd Amendment Cure

We woke up Sunday morning to find out about a mass shooting by a radical Islamist terrorist in Orlando, Florida. And while cries for gun control started emanating immediately from President Obama and others, we need to realize that banning guns is not the solution to the problem, the use of guns is the solution. The 2nd Amendment to the Constitution contains part of the solution: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Our so-called defenders of the Constitution in the American judicial system need to stop making unconstitutional judgments that infringe upon "the right of the people to keep and bear arms." The potential for mass killings is particularly a clear and present danger now that ISIS is able to influence and/or infiltrate terrorist who commit mass shootings in America. It is becoming imperative that a "well regulated Militia" include a nationwide effort to have armed citizenry available to stop people such as Sunday's mass killer in Orlando. While there need to be better and more effective ways to act on the warning signs that indicate someone may be a mass killer, we also need to have more armed citizenry, hired or not, to act as a militia, in effect being on call wherever they are to defend their fellow citizens when mass killers show up somewhere to commit mayhem.

By having conceal-carry or open carry laws, law abiding citizens have the means to protect themselves and others from those who would open fire on a crowd of people in such a way. This "being necessary to the security of a free State" makes it one aspect of our 2^nd Amendment rights. But even in the states that have such laws, mass murderers find gun-free zones to commit their atrocities: "On Friday singer Christina Grimmie was murdered in a gun-free zone in in Orlando. Early this morning, at least 50 people were fatally shot at an Orlando night club--also a gun-free zone. In both cases the media has yet to report that these attacks occurred where general citizens couldn't defend themselves. "Since at least 1950, only slightly over 1 percent of mass public shootings have occurred where general citizens have been able to defend themselves.... In this particular case [the Orlando night club] the police only arrived on the scene after the attack occurred. That illustrates another point: it is simply impossible for the police to protect all possible targets." President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and their fellow Democrats tell us the solution is to violate the Second Amendment and restrict the Constitutional right of law abiding citizens as they stymie the efforts of law enforcement to prevent terrorist attacks.

We need a President who will begin to help us to defend ourselves from ISIS terrorist attacks and stop blaming America for the problem.

What we have to do is identify the threat and go after it. FoxNews has been reporting on the connection Sunday's" mass murderer had with jihadists: "The gunman who murdered at least 50 people in a Florida nightclub early Sunday morning was a follower of a controversial gang leader-turned-bank robber who was released from prison last year despite warnings from prosecutors that he would recruit people to carry out violent acts, sources told FoxNews.com. "Omar Mateen, whose bloody siege inside a packed Orlando gay nightclub ended when SWAT teams stormed the building and killed him, was a radical Muslim who followed Marcus Dwayne Robertson, a law enforcement source said." "FoxNews.com has reported extensively on Robertson, a former U.S. Marine who served as a bodyguard to the Blind Sheik involved in the 1993 World Trade Center Attack and led a gang of New York bank robbers called "Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves" before resurfacing in Orlando, where he started an Islamic seminary.
