WASHINGTON, D.C. - Less than one month since the inauguration, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Donald Trump. Unlike the failed policies of the past going back to 1967, Trump refused to pressure Israel into a so-called two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump stated he would support whatever solution was agreed upon between the parties. Trump promised during the campaign that he would move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, but he has received some push back from some sectors that want to maintain the status quo. "The opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Israel could not come at a more critical time," said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, President of Christians in Defense of Israel, and Founder and President of Covenant Journey. "Since Lyndon Johnson, Republican and Democratic presidents have tried to impose a two-state solution on Israel as a means to achieving peace. But dividing land will not bring peace. The 1993 Oslo Accords only served to give birth to a terrorist government in the Palestinian Authority, which opened the door for Hamas ruling in Gaza. Neither the Palestinian Authority nor Hamas want peace. They want to rename the entire land to Palestine and they do not want any Jews. When they do not recognize Israel's right to exist and pledge in their constitutions to wipe out Israel and the Jewish people, a mere parcel of land here or there will not bring peace," said Staver. "I urge President Trump to keep his promise to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the undivided capital of Israel," said Staver.
