Starting June 2018 women will be allowed to drive in the repressive Muslim Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “We welcome you to the 20th century,” Shepard Smith quipped Tuesday on Fox News Channel. According to NPR,
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud issued an order on Tuesday that paves the way for women to obtain driver’s licenses, according to Saudi state media. The king weighed the negative and positive points of the ban on women driving, the official Saudi Press Agency wrote, while also making sure that any new law was in compliance with Islamic law. SPA said the change was approved by a majority of the Council of Senior Scholars, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body.
Backwards Saudi Arabia, which treats women as little more than slaves or men’s chattels, is reportedly the only country on the planet that forbids females from getting behind the wheel. There is no law on the books that prevents women from driving but the government refuses to issue them licenses. A Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia who must have gone to the same medical school as Bernie Sanders (cervical cancer is caused by women not having enough #, Sanders claimed) warned a few years back that women would damage their reproductive systems if allowed to drive. “If a woman drives a car, not out of pure necessity, that could have negative physiological impacts as functional and physiological medical studies show that it automatically affects the ovaries and pushes the pelvis upwards,” complete idiot Sheikh Lohaidan said. “That is why we find those who regularly drive have children with clinical problems of varying degrees.”
