WASHINGTON - The Trump Administration has announced that United States foreign assistance dollars will no longer be provided to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) based on its promotion and support of forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations in China.
United States funding will be directed instead to other family planning and health programs not involved in China's population control program. The cut amounts to at least $32.5 million for 2017, and funds will be directed to the U.S. Agency for International Development, which provides medical care to families across the world.
