When the Calgary Highlanders went ashore on 20 July 1944 as part of the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, committed to the bloody Normandy campaign, they were accompanied by the Black Watch of Montreal (Anglophone) and the Régiment de Maisonneuve (Francophone). The 5th Brigade participated in the bloody battles of Caen and closing the Falaise which ended the horrific Normandy campaign and paved the way for the liberation of Europe. Other battles in the Netherlands, like the bloody Walchern Causeway, would follow.

I'm 71 and live in Montreal. I worked with military all my adult life and had many in my family who served. My research on the level of readyness of our military is disturbing to say the least. 30.000 able bodies at the last check and I do not know if any are sick because of the jabs. I firmly believe Canada has had a COUP and our military is now under the U.N. Canadians have no idea the danger Canada is in. Belligerent bad actors in Ottawa and their friends have destroyed our nation from within. This I believe and there is no point to not say it out load because Canadians deserve to know. Just saying. It will only get worse from here. Be Blessed.

Agree totally with Patricia Bowman and this author. Canada indeed has had a coup we are in deep trouble as a country. Worse still is there is no one I really trust to help us running for PM next election to look after Canada, it looks like. Pierre Poilievre looks best but is he? We can only hope so far as he doesn't seem to talk about real reform and protecting Canadians. Still wanting to make it pan Canada bringing in so many expensive immigrants now being left homeless for the WEF UN and he is worried about more homes for them? When this was all caused for years by making our housing being bought freely by so many richer immigrants, never mind the total mess in our schools etc.
Yes we can sign the petition to try and get rid of useless country destroyers ndp/lieberal/bloc/green but also look for and sign a petition by Leslyn Lewis to remove us from the UN and WEF that I saw while looking for the rid ourselves of the coup leader Trudeau petition, which probably wouldn't help since the rest of the WEF politicians will step up and our election will be fixed again. etc. etc. etc. so sad really.
