China Takes Great Leap Forward in Space


China's Heavenly Palace, Yiangong While Anti-America in Space activists kept the spotlight on the military aggression of the U.S. in intergalactic war, the Peoples Republic of China seems to have taken a Chairman Mao Great Leap Forward. “China is speeding up plans to launch and operate a space station in Earth orbit and turning over the project to military control, according to reports from the official Chinese news agency Zinhua and spaceflightNow.com.” (blogs.discovery.com, March 3, 2009). “The 8.5-ton laboratory, called Tiangong--Chinese for “heavenly palace”--is slated for launch before the end of next year.
