Front Page MagPHILADELPHIA -- Democrats made their second affirmative-action pick in a row yesterday as they formally anointed Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton as their party's nominee for the highest office in the land.
The news comes as Republican standard-bearer Donald Trump continues to rise in the polls and after President Obama publicly acknowledged that Trump "could win" in November.
Outside the convention in the searing heat there were plenty of protests and at least one flag-burning. Black Lives Matter protesters chased reporters away telling them they weren't welcome there. Demonstrators, some of whom were bitter Sanders supporters, stood outside the convention perimeter chanting "Jill, not Hill," the "Jill" being a reference to Jill Stein, the Green Party's presumptive presidential candidate.
