Islamic jihad may have been the motivation of a man accused of shooting at least five people to death and injuring many more at the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., airport this afternoon.
Reports indicate Esteban Santiago previously presented himself to the FBI, claiming voices were urging him to fight on behalf of Islamic State but the feds let him go.
In addition, GotNews reports, “A search of leaked databases using those e-mails returns this image of Esteban Santiago wearing a Middle Eastern keffiyeh around his neck and doing a raised one-fingered common to members of the Islamic State and other Islamic terrorist groups[.]”
Santiago is reportedly 26 years old, of Puerto Rican ancestry, a U.S. citizen born in New Jersey, and a former U.S. Army Reservist.
