Since the horrific events of 9/11, many Americans have urged Muslim leaders to speak out against violence, murder, and other barbaric acts committed by Islamic extremists in the name of Islam. Although Muslims generally refute acts committed by ISIS and other terrorist groups, the volume of protest has not been, in the opinion of many Americans, sufficient to change the minds and hearts of many Americans.
