They are the ones who know deep down at heart that there would be no holiday celebrations had it not been for those who gave their lives in foreign lands so that families could gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. They are the ones who would never let Thanksgiving slip by without saying the most fervent of prayers remembering the sacrifices of veterans and sincere ones that beg the Creator to keep all police officers safe in a day when a government in office ignores the number of police killed on duty; an administration that allows veterans to die without needed medical help or who return after serving their country to live homeless on the streets.
