Why the lawyers for the Coutts Three did not present a defense is beyond my ability to understand. Were they competent? Were they unprepared? I have never heard of a defense resting after the prosecution finishes their presentation.

The fix was in - the verdict was already written before the trial even started. No defense would matter as this was a Trudeau show trial. Legal? Depending. Justice? Never.
As the cartoon "The Wizard if Id" stated when the king's lackey exclaimed "The peasants are revolting", the king replied "they certainly are". Our Dear Leader probably said the same when the truckers protested.
