I am doing the 1/2 caf - 1/2 decaf your way also. I was surprised to see that they made a half & half already made, but it is cheaper to do it yourself and it tastes the same. There is something different about the taste of decaf that I like. I can't describe it. Maybe you know what I am talking about. So I make it with regular and add the decaf for that flavor.
In Nov 2021, when we left Oregon the package of 5 dozen eggs was sometimes $7.99 or $8.99. Six months later they were $15.99 and then went up to $21.00 at our local Walmart. We found a local source for fresh eggs at $3 per dozen. We were very happy with that as they are much better and larger eggs. Yesterday we could not help ourselves. Walmart had them at $7 for 5 dozen. Lower than we have ever bought them! Good time of year since it will be holiday baking time!
Thank you for the tip about looking at the bottom shelves. I had heard that before but had forgotten. Will start looking again. Wouldn't think of Menard's for toothpaste, but I always cruise that shelf by the entry. Interesting stuff.
