In order to understand the true nature of the two major political parties that are currently in power, we must examine their ideologies. The economic cornerstone of the Democratic Party ideology is social justice. Social justice assigns rights and duties in the institutions of society. The relevant institutions include taxation, social insurance (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid), public health, public school, public services, labor laws and regulation of markets to ensure equal wealth distribution and equal opportunity for everyone.
