Bernie Sanders agrees with conservatives: The Obama admin. unemployment numbers are totally phony

Bernie Sanders spent the last week doing everything he could to paint himself as a left-wing mirror image of Ted Cruz. Sure, he's on the opposite end of virtually every issue, but the methods are the same. He's portraying himself as the only "true liberal" in the race, ripping on his own party's corporatist transgressions, attacking his own party's elites, and offering the Dem base enough tasty red meat to satisfy Michael Moore. ...And, if you believe the polls, it appears to be working. Bernie Sanders is dragging the base away from Hillary and his numbers are climbing.

Now, he's set his sights on an unexpected target: The administration of Barack Obama. Conservatives have long argued that the President's various agencies trying their best to whitewash the country's unemployment numbers. At a rally in Portland, Maine yesterday, Bernie let us know that he agrees:
“When you talk about the economy, we also have to have an honest assessment of unemployment in America. Now, once a month the government publishes a set of figures, and the last figures they published said that official unemployment was 5.4 percent. But there is another set of government statistics. And that says that real unemployment - if you include those people who have given up looking for work and the millions of others who are working part-time 20, 25 hours a week when they want to work full time - when you all of that together, real unemployment is 10.5 percent. Well, let me tell you something that is even more frightening and is an issue we do not talk about at all - and that is the tragedy in this country of youth unemployment. I don't care if nobody else talks about this issue; we will talk about this issue. Here's why. For young people who have graduated high school or dropped out of high school who are between the ages of 17 and 20. If they happen to be white, unemployment is 33%. If they are Hispanic, unemployment rate is 36%. If they are African American, real unemployment rate for young people is 51%.”
Granted, Bernie's a socialist. As a result, you shouldn't doubt - even for a second - that everything he would offer as a remedy would only serve to make the situation worse. Still, it's refreshing to hear a staunch liberal who's not parroting the administration's bogus line about how our fearless leader magically solved our unemployment problems. A few months ago I dismissed Bernie Sanders as an elderly crackpot socialist with no hope of making a dent in the primaries, let alone of winning a general election. All of that was correct, except the "making a dent" bit. Bernie's still a longshot, and I still doubt that he'll see much success in the primaries, but he is making a dent. He's also dragging Hillary to the left - something that will hurt her in the general should she be the eventual nominee. But hey. I could be completely off-base. Maybe Bernie Sanders really is the candidate the Democrats crave. If that's the case, more power to 'em. By all means, please, please, please nominate Bernie Sanders. Here's Bernie's entire speech. Everything in it is wrong, aside from the "corporate cronyism" and "unemployment" bits.
