Obama's Cuban pals helping Putin fight U.S. backed rebels in Syria

Now that we've normalized relations with Cuba, everything is hunky-dory, right? We've reopened our embassy, Americans will soon be purchasing cigars and exotic rums, and with a little luck we're all going to be partying like an army of Ricky Ricardos. Oh sure, we're turning a blind eye to the Castro brothers, their decades of theft, murder, torture and general despotism, but Paris Hilton got to visit! So the Obama administration is going to call it even. Unfortunately for the President, his newly-minted Cuban pals are not so eager to embrace the United States. They are, however, ready and willing to assist Putin in Syria.
As Fox News reports:
Cuban military operatives reportedly have been spotted in Syria, where sources believe they are advising President Bashar al-Assad’s soldiers and may be preparing to man Russian-made tanks to aid Damascus in fighting rebel forces backed by the U.S. Gen. Leopoldo Cintra Frias, head of Cuba's Armed Forces, recently visited Syria to lead a group of Cuban military personnel joining forces with Russia in their support of Assad, according to information received by the University of Miami's Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies. On Wednesday, a U.S. official confirmed to Fox News that Cuban paramilitary and special forces units are on the ground in Syria, citing evidence from intelligence reports. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Cuban troops may have been training in Russia and may have arrived in Syria on Russian planes.
The left wanted us to believe that Cuba would be eager to exploit its new relationship with the United States in pursuit of money, tourism, and a better way of life. It was supposed to reverse "decades of failed embargos" and bring about a new Cuba - one who's financial ties to the U.S. made it more ameanable to Western ideals. Those of us who disagreed argued that, no, the Castro brothers wouldn't be weakened and they wouldn't toe a new pro-Western line. They'd simply absorb the new influx of cash and use it in their ongoing efforts to align themselves with the "planet's worst actors."

Obama has - just as he has in Iran - cut a deal with some of the worst dictators on Earth

No, that's not another Paris Hilton Joke. Obama has - just as he has in Iran - cut a deal with some of the worst dictators on Earth and the results are utterly predictable. Since he apparently couldn't foresee the inevitable outcome, he's either terrifyingly naive or purposely aiding our enemies. Conservatives made that call a long time ago, but it's becoming extremely difficult for anyone to argue that he's simply a well-intentioned failure. His foreign policy decisions have, uniformly, damaged U.S. interests overseas. One or two bad calls, even big ones, you could write off as an error. When every single decision ends up the same way, however, it's impossible to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt. The only question now is: Is there anything he could do that would cause the press to label him a traitor, or does he have a perpetual free pass from the anti-American left?
