Another day, another cop-hating fast food worker

Ever since Obama and other race baiters began fueling hate against America’s men and women in blue, there have been several incidents involving employees of fast food restaurants disrespecting police officers who went to their establishments as customers. What happened Friday in Millbury, Ohio was different. It was perhaps the most egregious example of these minimum wage employees sending the message they hate cops and that police officers are not welcome in their restaurants.

According to BizPac Review, Chantal Smith went to Millbury Steak ‘n Shake with her family that included her husband, a police officer who had just finished his shift and was in uniform. Friday was Halloween and the staff of the franchise were in costume. According to Smith, one of the female servers was dressed as a SWAT/police officer with a bullet hole painted on her forehead. The officer’s wife posted her complaint on Steak ‘n Shake’s Facebook page. She called it disgusting, especially in front of children and said she will do everything she can to make sure her family and friends do not eat at any of the company’s restaurants. Smith also said the manager had no problem with the way the waitress was dressed. BizPac reported that an employee named Paul said the server was dressed as a zombie and not a police officer although her costume “might” have had the word “police” on it. Guess he thinks that makes it okay. Paul also said the employee was now afraid to come to work. Poor baby. If this is in fact true, there are two things that make this incident stand out from other situations where uniformed police officers have been given trouble by fast food employees when they are simply trying to get something to eat. Unlike most other incidents where an employee says something to the police officer-customer this situation, dressing up as a police officer with a bullet hole in the forehead, was planned in advance and not a spontaneous statement made by an employee who may or may not have been attempting to make a joke. Secondly, and more importantly, there has been no response from the company on social media since Smith posted her complaint on Steak ‘n Shake’s Facebook page. Okay it was the weekend but that is no excuse. The Facebook page and Twitter account were still going with the company posting on Sunday that their Steakburger is a home run, no matter what World Series team you are rooting for. Other franchisors have been quick to respond to similar incidents with apologies and promises of investigations. These investigations resulted in some employees being terminated. Hopefully Smith and others who are calling for a boycott are successful. The company does not seem to think this is any big deal that is worth responding to. Disgusting.
