Desperation and Denial

After losing, Democrats suddenly convinced that voting machines are vulnerable, voter fraud exists

Prior to the election, Democrats were very clear.  There was no way that voting machines could be hacked or manipulated on a large scale.  It simply couldn't happen. They presented us with all the data, all the security measures, and even "VOXsplained" why mass "vote flipping" was impossible. They mocked anyone who dared disagree, and went to the polls without hesitation.
...Where they lost in a big, big way. Now *gasp* they seem to be concerned that voting machines were hacked, the election was stolen, and Donald Trump didn’t win Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
A New York Mag report claims the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society is lobbying the Clinton campaign to challenge results in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.  The team believes they've found persuasive evidence that results in those three states may have been tampered with. The group is not speaking publicly, but is lobbying the Clinton team in private, according to NYMag. The UM team held a call with the Clinton campaign last week, presenting findings that showed in Wisconsin, Clinton received 7 percent fewer votes in counties that relied on electronic-voting machines compared with counties that used optical scanners and paper ballots.

Based on this, the team says Clinton may have been denied up to 30,000 votes - Clinton lost Wisconsin by 27,000 votes. The group has not found proof of hacking, but argues that the suspicious pattern merits an independent review.
Obviously, there's no other possible explanation for Hillary's humiliating defeat.  There must have been shenanigans. No sane person would refuse to vote for poor, innocent, Hillary Clinton. Why, she must be the victim in this! Right, Paul Krugman?

Left wing luminaries (people who funneled tons of cash into Hillary's doomed expedition) pounced.  Movie and TV director Joss Whedon, who created the insipid "famous people" Hillary ad, was quick to offer the rallying cry:

In fact, Whedon is so sure that the conspiracy theories are true that he thinks the Democrats were unwitting partners in its execution.  You see, Trump got Democrats to argue that voter fraud didn't exist, so they'd look completely insane when they accused Trump of committing it.  Circular logic is fun! Unfortunately for the tinfoil hat brigade, the left's favorite analyst, Nate Silver, has pretty much decimated their concerns.

In other words, it didn't happen.  Progressives know this, but they're latching on to any and every conspiracy in the hopes that something - anything - will stick. There's no theory too crazy if it will help them de-legitimize the incoming President.   It's not going to work, guys.   ...And by the way, what was all that talk about accepting the results of elections?
