He used to make every day winter appearances to us just outside our house back windows while we were still living in Goderich, Ontario. The cutest cardinal imaginable. Because of the discernible tuft on his head, Brian nicknamed the little visitor,’Spike’.
We stopped work every time we saw Spike hopping—no, actually strutting—along on the deck at the back of our house. Sometimes, the little guy would bring his less colorful wife to join him in the daily winter strut; sometimes he would look up at us watching him from the window, as if we, and not him, were the real novelty.
Until American Thanksgiving Day, we had never seen another cardinal for the entire year and a half we have been in Nova Scotia, but thought often about how much we missed seeing Spike.
The unexpected, out-of-the-blue appearance of the cardinal on our back veranda on Thursday brought us hope in these dark days.
Almost everything we see on the Internet is worrisome, especially the Fake News of Government sanctioned propaganda.
On awakening Thanksgiving Day, we were discussing what is likely going to happen to us, asking each other: “Will we be able to keep Canada Free Press online, given the suppression of Google-led social media, still sending us threatening “take down your site” emails during the last three years—even after we had taken down all Google ads as ordered.
We no longer have any ties to Google and are proud of it!
In our tossed-up world, we of course realize that everyone, not only CFP wonders what is going to happen; what is coming next for world masses.
No one really knows—including those who claim they do.
What will happen to each and every one of us, depends on God’s Providence, not maniacal Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, Joe O’Biden, Justin Trudeau or any other monster now holding public office.
In the midst of our wonderment and worry, we saw the appearance of the cardinal as a message from God Almighty; a message telling us to hang on, to stay the course, that better days are on the way.
We should be aware that God messages His own, many of them through Nature, which is His Creation.
To see them, we have only to look and contemplate them:
The Thanksgiving Day of the appearance of a cardinal on our back porch only lasted a few minutes, thankfully long enough to take a picture.
But the warmth of the memory of it even in the current January-February-like bitter early cold in this Acadian fishing village can be made to last through prayer—multiple prayers—thanking God Almighty for His Creation.
In their own way, most of the Good Lord’s Creations praise God Almighty.
Isn’t that what His human creation called Man should be doing?
