When a British court denounced every claim but one made by Al Gore, Al Gore used the single survivor as an excuse to carry on, saying he had been ‘vindicated’! So, for years, the green movement has existed on just one supposed claim… all the others having already been debunked.
Now, the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has fallen solidly behind the British government’s outrageous environmental scam, giving Gordon Brown and his skulking ministers reason to rejoice.
I was one of a number of complainants to the ASA about the British government’s TV and other ads that blatantly push the green cause, and had an official response to my complaint a week ago. But, The
Telegraph broke the embargo by publishing the results a day early.
Government Spin
Typically, the government swooped on some of the ‘positive’ aspects of the results, following several months of ASA ‘investigation’, completely ignoring the very few negatives. However, the facts are ominous for all who fight the green delusion.
When I sent in my complaint (the latest of several over two years), I was told to keep everything quiet until the investigation was completed. I wrote back and said I was wary and believed the ASA was going to string-out the investigation so that it didn’t clash with Copenhagen. I was right! I also said I doubted the ASA would conduct a proper, balanced investigation, but would come out in favour of the government. Again, I was right.
Only two TV ads were banned by the ASA, for “overstating the risks” of climate change. The ASA said they “made exaggerated claims about the threat to Britain from global warming”. The ASA even said claims by the IPCC “involved uncertainties” that the adverts failed to reflect. Both ads were written around children’s nursery rhymes, because government wanted to cynically exploit kids with material that would frighten them.
Though the results are minimal and not what anti-greens would like to see, they actually denounce the whole government campaign, by admitting that claims are exaggerated and overstating the risks! Yet, Ed Miliband, the Environment Secretary, said that his department was “comprehensively vindicated” by the ASA! Eh? Only a politician can make a denial into an acceptance! His department was not vindicated, but shown to be liars over issues that are exaggerated and over-stated! Miliband is hyping everything up and getting away with it.
If it is shown that the IPCC reports contain uncertainties, and that government ads contain exaggerations… then those two facts alone are enough to discredit government claims, and the policies based on them.
More Debunking of the IPCC!
This latest debacle by the ASA follows closely on the heels of another study, that says UN IPCC climate change claims in their infamous 2007 Report on rainforests are wrong! As I keep asking – just how many contradictions does it take to dismantle the IPCC and green claims? Obviously, even if 100% of green claims are shown to be false (and so far this is the way it is going), greens will still get away with what they are doing! The statement by Miliband is another proof of this criminal propaganda.
New research contradicts the IPCC’s original claims about supposed damage done to the Amazonian rainforest. Even more interestingly, the latest research report was written with NASA information (NASA has been very ‘green’ in the past) and shows that even after the most serious drought in the Amazon for more than a century, there was “little impact” on the vegetation in the rainforest. Intriguingly, the information comes from 2005 figures – two years before the 2007 Report. But, I guarantee green groups will continue to make false claims about rainforests.
Small Changes are Meaningless
The IPCC claimed that even a small reduction on rainfall (which mimics the very small temperature-change claims) would dramatically and irreversibly alter the Amazon. Obviously, they were very wrong, and a long drought has produced no tangible damage. This is yet another strong rebuke to the IPCC by science itself. Another bastion of green lies has been destroyed. But, greens will keep on trucking’! They will keep lying their heads off and governments will still follow them… because the lies give them the power they need to bring in draconian laws and policies.
A recent pro-green newspaper statement said that the IPCC has been found wanting in ‘two’ claims! Perhaps I am reading different sources… but even since Copenhagen, at least twenty major contradictions have been listed worldwide!
Act Quickly - Before We Are Found Out!
Of course, greens are trying to position their claims on urgency. This is why they keep saying that even ‘slight’ changes, including temperature, will result in disaster. By making everything urgent and founded on minimal changes, greens hope to control all aspects of climate argument, so that no changes at all will be allowed. A number of scientists have now criticised the IPCC for its claims in the 2007 Report.
The 2007 Report was based on ridiculous sources such as green activists, lawyers, dentists, the WWF, Greenpeace, and so on. Student theses were used. Few studies were peer-reviewed or even checked. And it is this tumbleweed that is used as the basis for worldwide socialist control of the people.
Now back to the ASA investigation…
What the ASA did not make clear to newspapers, and that newspapers did not manage to discover, though it is made plain in the published results, is that NONE of the ‘expert’s used by the ASA was independent! Every one was government, or government-linked! NOT ONE scientist critical of the government stance was referred to. In other words, my complaint about government was checked against the data used by the very same government that made the ads! Sounds balanced?
Yet, for the three years I have complained, I have repeated my offer to send the ASA full references and names, so that it could better evaluate advertisements by the government. The refusal to look at counter-claims by non-green science, is a serious indication of the way things are going. It also proves that official bodies are stoutly socialist and pro-government, even when they tell lies. That equals an inability to do genuine investigations.
What we are seeing is a ramping-up of green policies by governments, in the face of serious allegations of fraud, bad science, exaggeration and deception – most of which is proven. Almost all of the IPCC major claims have been denounced and shown to be fraudulent, or just wrong. Yet, governments keep on pushing greenism and greens keep on following! When groups and governments keep to their guns even when all sources are proven to be false, it shows only one thing – a propaganda agenda.
To insist on what is shown to be wrong is not acceptable. It must not be used against the people. But, that is what is happening. And this only serves to prove my point – that the whole thing is just a façade for a coming worldwide totalitarian Marxist-Fascist regime, starting with the West.
Prove Consensus – or Shut Up!
In its adjudication, the ASA referred to a ‘consensus’ of scientific opinion that mankind produces most CO2 and that the same CO2 raises temperature, which in turn creates climate change. Yet, none of this can be proved, or it has been debunked! Or, maybe a Scandinavian tree-hugger made a drunken claim in a local drinking den, and it was used in the 2007 IPCC Report?
In my own articles I have referred to at least 50,000 scientists who will not bow the knee to the IPCC. So, who constitutes the ‘consensus’? I want to know HOW MANY scientists accept green climate arguments? I want to know HOW IS THE NUMBER of consensus scientists arrived at? WHO SAID SO? I also want to know HOW MANY scientists are critical of greenism? Until the ASA can give answers, their conclusions are meaningless. Or, rather, they will only prove my allegations against them to be correct – that they serve government only, are unable to balance information properly, and are just stooges of socialism.
