CIA Director John Brennan: ISIS hasn't been diminished - now bigger than Al Qaeda at its peak

If you believe the administration boilerplate, you would think Obama's "J.V. Team" has been all but decimated. At various times the President has claimed that ISIS has been operationally, financially, and territorially diminished, and he regularly paints a picture of a terrorist organization on the verge of total collapse. Anyone with even the most feeble understanding of global events knew that was complete B.S., but it's the manure the administration has been shoveling. Now, sadly, CIA Director John Brennan has testified that it is, in fact, hogwash. Whatever territorial gains we've made have had little impact on ISIS's ability to carry out attacks. In fact, those meager victories have done nothing to impair their operational reach, and have made them more determined than ever.
Oh, and by the way, they're posing as refugees. From CNN:
"We judge that ISIL is training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks. ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West. And the group is probably exploring a variety of means for infiltrating operatives into the West, including refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel," CIA Director John Brennan will tell the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday morning. Brennan also says despite all the efforts by the U.S. against ISIS, it has not stopped the group. "Unfortunately, despite all our progress against ISIL on the battlefield and in the financial realm, our efforts have not reduced the group's terrorism capability and global reach," Brennan will say. "The resources needed for terrorism are very modest, and the group would have to suffer even heavier losses of territory, manpower and money for its terrorist capacity to decline significantly," Brennan will say. "In fact, as the pressure mounts on ISIL, we judge that it will intensify its global terror campaign to maintain its dominance of the global terrorism agenda."
Perhaps even scarier is the fact that we're not doing anything to damage their numbers either. In fact, their ranks have grown. It feels like we've been beating this drum for years, but it's always been obvious that this is the case. Despite the liar-in-chief's assurances, it was constantly clear that he was having little or no impact on the problem he is so loathe to name. Global Islamic extremists are getting stronger, not weaker. Anyone who would paint a different picture is either a fool, or complicit in the expansion.
