DNC platform committee member: no one 'should have a gun'

I'm starting to feel like a broken record when it comes to Hillary Clinton's obvious plans for the 2nd Amendment. I've discussed her desire to eliminate the right to private firearm ownership at least twice, here and here, and probably more. It should be obvious to anyone paying attention that, if people are foolish enough to put her in office, the right to bear arms will be the first thing Clinton dismantles. However, if you haven't gotten the message yet, we present you with Bonnie Schaefer. She's a far-left member of the DNC platform committee. Basically, it's the committee's job to create the official Democrat platform that, as it is every four years, will be updated and adopted at the convention.

She laments the fact that we're currently seeking to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and people with mental and emotional issues. That, she believes, doesn't go far enough. If she has her way, no one would ever be able to own a gun. Keeping weapons from people who can't responsibly own them is apparently a step but, as she puts it, "I really don’t personally think anyone should have a gun. Nothing is ever solved when you have a gun in your hand, except the worst possible scenario." (video below) I wonder if she understands how inherently stupid that argument is, since "the worst possible scenario" is precisely the reason the founders created the 2nd Amendment in the first place. We've said it a thousand times but apparently this woman is pretty dense, so we'll say it again: The right of an individual to own a gun isn't about any of the "approved" reasons. It's not about sport, or hunting, or collecting. It's about defending oneself against attack or federal overreach - end of story. I can't warn you plainly enough: If you value your rights - any of them - these people cannot be allowed a victory in November.
