Facebook’s sham ‘self investigation‘ into the social media giant’s alleged suppression of conservative news scheduled for tomorrow at Silicon Valley, had already come to a conclusion about who the culprits were ahead of the big get together. “Several people close to the company, who also declined to speak on record, argued that if bias was being inserted into the trending section, it came from Facebook’s part-time news curators acting on their own.” (The Guardian, May 16, 2016)
The butler did it, but in this online who-done-it, the butler was only “part-time”. In Facebook lingo: ROTFLMAO!! Colombos and Inspector Clouseaus expected to investigate the suppression of conservative news by the social media giant include senior Trump advisor Barry Bennett--who will be vastly outnumbered by several “influential conservatives” including Glenn Beck, thinktank leaders, Fox News host Dana Perino and a Republican digital media operative. The gathering was allegedly called in response to Republican outrage over a report that contractors for Zuckerberg’s company were suppressing conservative articles from its “ trending section”. No mention of the outrage of conservatives searching the ‘Net for conservative news. Wonder if showboat Glenn Beck will be wearing his mock Donald Trump’s “orange face”, the one he acquired by plunging his own in a bowl of cheetos during his recent radio show?

“Orange Face” meeting up with red-faced Zuckerberg should be good for a laugh, particularly, now that Beck wrote on a Sunday post: “It would be interesting to look him in the eye as he explains, and a win for all voices if we can come to a place of real trust with this powerful tool.” ”Beck wrote of the Facebook CEO. “I will stand for any man’s right to be truly free and run his business the way he sees fit.” (Guardian) For those in far off countries who may not know who Beck is, he’s the popular U.S. television and radio host who called presidential frontrunner Donald Trump supporters, “brown shirts”. Think of Beck as “the holiest” in the holier-than-thou category, and you’ve got the picture. You can come to “a place of real trust with this powerful tool,” Mr. Beck but now that the cat’s out of the proverbial bag, it will take many conservatives a long time to come to the same place. Many more will come to that place only when trending first on Facebook’s page is Hillary’s email server scandal.

Seemingly lost on the ‘conservative’ Pooh-Bahs making room on their schedules to meet up with Zuckerberg at his Silicon Valley headquarters tomorrow: We are heading into the 2016 presidential election with social media’s two biggest giants stumping for Hillary Clinton, Facebook and the even more powerful Google, which is masterminding Clinton’s digital presidential campaign. Most at the Silicon meeting are all out to get the Donald. That comes first. Rescuing an America in apparent decline comes last. Meanwhile while the rest of us may snack on Cheetos, Glenn Beck continues to wear his. Not all conservatives come at the run when thumb-sucking Zuckerberg decided to toot his whistle. “At least one conservative organization invited told Facebook to take a hike. On Monday afternoon Breitbart News, widely seen as the most pro-Trump news outlet of the election, said the social media company had reached out but declared it had “zero interest in a Facebook photo-op”.
