When Grand Ole’ Party (GOP) peers into the mirror, it no longer sees itself. It sees the rise of populism through a fearless Donald J. Trump. Peering into the mirror causes GOP only anxiety and bone-chilling panic. They can’t wish The Donald away, but that’s precisely what they’re trying to do.
(‘Is he gone yet, Reince?’-Paul Ryan). More than 70 GOP leaders have sent a letter to Chairman of the Republican National Committee Reince Priebus bitterly whining that their candidate is a “lost cause”. They, of course are the real lost cause. If Trump wins the presidency, Trump knows who each and every one of them are. If Trump loses, millions of Americans who voted for him will blame the GOP first, the mainstream and social media second and Hillary Clinton third. If November 8 brings President Donald Trump to America, those GOP members who aren’t hiding out on the golf links but who still hold public office will team up with the Clinton/Obama cabal to keep President Trump from bringing the country back to what it was before 2008. Count on it.

Is it any wonder then, as Canada Free Press reader, strategist Linda St. Amand laments: “GOP told Trump to straighten up, straighten your tie, mousse your hair, polish your shoes, zip up the lip”? “I recall we lost twice to Obama, how dare you advise Donald J. Trump”, St. Amand wrote in an email today. “We won midterms--not because it had anything to do with the GOP Republicans--but because the IRS got caught holding back conservative organizations. Because Obama was and isn’t coming up smelling like roses. “FUNNY how President Obama can be pretty darn slick -- as the American Center of Law & Justice is fighting this overreaching president, America’s most corrupt.” And our Mr. GOOD GUY has to watch HIS mouth??

As the GOP works to change Trump’s populist image, he should be singing back the song ‘Don’t Make Me Over‘ to them. During Obama’s Fundamental Transformation of America, GOP leaders had eight long years to make themselves over, to try to stop or stall the destruction of the greatest country on earth. They sat back and did nothing, and worked instead to throw roadblocks in front of the handful of Conservatives clinging against all odds to their conservative principles. Don’t worry about Trump’s hair, tie, shoes and crude but truthful mouth, GOP turncoats, worry about yourselves. In less than three months the election will be here and gone, and we’ll all clearly see whether American voters cared more about what was inside Trump’s head rather than on top of it. GOP Republicans endorsing Clinton will not be forgotten, as passionate patriots like Linda St. Anand makes clear: “We are taking notes and forwarding GOP’s emails.” GOP turncoats can run but they can’t hide.
