High School Teaches That Reading And Writing Is Racist

If you’re reading this right now, you’re probably a racist. Then again, since I’m writing it, I must be one too. That is if you believe what one high school in Seattle is shoveling out to its students.

The class is called World Literature and Composition, which is ironic because most English classes stress the importance of reading and writing, but not here. In this class, students are told that reading and writing are characteristics of “white supremacy.”

As part of black lives matter at school week, the bigots at this high school not only preached this nonsense, but handed out a paper with instructions to match nine terms with nine definitions all dealing with what they call white supremacy. One father is so outraged that he refers to it as “educational malpractice.”

Someone needs to explain how an English class can get away with teaching that “Worship of the Written Word” is white supremacy. They claim that it is “an erasure of the wide range of ways we communicate with each other.” It insinuates that we value the written word over other communication because it is a way of “honoring only what is written and even then, only what is written to a narrow standard, full of misinformation and lies.”

Jason Rantz who has a talk show on KTTH in Seattle, does a great job exposing this type of exploitation. He interviewed the father of one of these students who vented his frustration. “I feel bad for any students who actually internalize stuff like this as it is setting them up for failure.”


“Perfectionism,” “Objectivity” and “Individualism” as traits of white supremacy

The dad who wishes to remain anonymous so there is no backlash against his child, said that he was disturbed by much of the worksheet. The father stated that the sheet lists characteristics like “perfectionism,” “objectivity” and “individualism” as traits of white supremacy. It goes on to say that denial is a form of racism, so if you argue, disagree, or deny any of the traits listed on the sheet it demonstrates “entitlement to name what is and isn’t racism and that those with power have a right to be shielded from the stresses of antiracist work.”

The dad told Jason that the concepts are “incoherent and cannot stand any sort of reasoned analysis.” He correctly believes that this type of pressure paints the students into a corner.

“How is a 15-year-old kid supposed to object in class when “denial and defensiveness” is itself a characteristic of white supremacy? This is truly educational malpractice.”

Adding another layer to the madness is that the school presented a Franchesca Ramsey video titled “Getting Called Out: How to Apologize.” Which is, according to Ramsey means “Getting called out, in the context of this video, is when you say or do something that upholds the oppression of a marginalized group of people.”

In a classic case of double speak, Ramsey thinks that white people need to become an ally by “doing the right thing.” In her demented mind she thinks (get this), you shouldn’t “get defensive” by denying you’re oppressing marginalized people, even if you’re not actually oppressing marginalized people.

This is a flagrant attempt to divide and breed hatred

“What you really need to do is listen because this is where the other person is hopefully going to explain to you what you did wrong and how you can explain it.”

The father explained that he taught his son to be on the lookout for this kind of radical indoctrination. That’s why his child brought the worksheets to him. He correctly states that the curriculum doesn’t help his kid on the subject he’s supposed to be being taught.

“My problem with this curriculum is that this is supposed to be a writing and literature class and lessons like these do nothing to help my kid become a better writer.” I’m sure Lincoln administration will point to the high ELA proficiency scores, but the high proportion of HCC (highly capable) kids (40% of the student body) is a big factor. With so many smart, hard-working kids (white supremacists) it’s easy to support these luxury beliefs but system-wide only 63% of kids are proficient in English. Is this really the best use of class time?

This is just another example of far-left extremism polluting the minds of our youth. Teaching the idea that admirable characteristics such as objectivity and individualism are traits of white supremacy is beyond ridiculous. Then even suggesting that reading or writing is a negative thing undermines basic education.

This is a flagrant attempt to divide and breed hatred, but it’s even worse than that. If you convince young minds that seeking to be better, or to improve their lot in life is a negative ideal, what alternative do you leave them? Parents do not want the fire in their child’s soul to be extinguished by leftist delusional thinking.

The parents need to unite and stop this curriculum in its tracks. It is poisoning the minds of their children.
