Every student needs to have lessons in logic and civics that are no longer taught. Armed with this knowledge, the tricks they are trying to shove down their throats will not work.
Also, if a student is not proficient in math, reading and writing by grade 3 they are going to have a hard time for the rest of their lives. If the schools do not provide this they are failing their main job. The parents must step up and do it, for their child's sake.
