Hillary: I don't regret taking $675K from Goldman Sachs because I won't 'pay any price for it'

Last night's Democratic town hall was so rife with lies, hypocrisy, and boneheaded ideas, that it's hard to pick just one thing to write about. Still, if I had to make the call, I'd say the best moment came when Anderson Cooper asked Hillary about the exhorbitantly priced speeches she gave to the left-wing boogeyman Goldman Sachs. When asked if she had to charge $675,000.00 for three brief appearances, Hillary said:
“Well, I don’t know. That’s what they offered."
Oh, well, golly-shucks. That's just what "they offered." Apparently, Hillary’s hoping you won't remember that her minimum fee for "paid remarks" is a staggering $200,000.00 - meaning that Goldman Sachs just barely overpaid. Besides, Hillary said, it's no big deal because “Every secretary of state that I know has done that.” To his credit, Cooper doesn't let her off the hook. He points out that, yeah, maybe they do - but they usually wait until they're out of office and not running anymore. Hillary tried to argue that she didn't know she'd be seeking the presidency, which is laughable for about half a million reasons, and claimed that it doesn't matter anyway, because she's so remarkably ethical - so absolutely squeaky clean - that no one can influence her.

"But anybody who knows me, who thinks that they can influence me—name anything they’ve influenced me on. Just name one thing. I’m out here every day saying I’m going to shut them down. I’m going after them. I’m going to jail them if they should be jailed. I’m going to break them up. They’re not giving me very much money now, I can tell you that much. Fine with me."
Here, we come to the difference between Bernie and Hillary. Bernie might be able to make this argument work. Bernie, for all of his wrong-headed crackpottery, means what he says. He believes in his ideals and he sticks to them. Hillary, on the other hand, is mired in multiple scandals, has been caught in hundreds of lies, and is currently the subject of an FBI investigation that (among other things) is looking to prove she sold access to the State Department. The idea that Hillary can take nearly $700,000.00 from Goldman Sachs while she still earnestly tries to destroy them is laughable precisely because of who she is. I doubt anyone, from her most ardent admirer to her most fervent detractor, would be able to make a credible argument to the contrary. Hillary's entire career, practically from day one, is a long struggle for power and wealth. That hasn't changed. She may be a closet socialist, but the ugly results of her ideology are for you - not her. At least she was honest about one thing: She doesn't regret taking the cash because she won't "pay a price" for her actions. She knows her voters. They're good little sheep, and she could do anything - anything at all - and if she's the nominee they'll shut their mouths and line up to pull the lever marked "D." If they haven't had their fill of Hillary's hypocrisy by now, they'll never get enough to dissuade them.
