Loser's excuse of the day

Hillary: Putin holds a grudge against me, and that's why he helped Trump win

Today's accepting-the-results-of-the-election update comes from the loser herself, who is now fully onboard with the Putin-did-it narrative, and wants everyone to know that Putin has held a grudge against her for the past five years because she - even the smooth diplomat - said something he didn't like:
Hillary Clinton said Thursday night that Russian President Vladimir Putin's alleged involvement in the hacking of Democratic organizations during the 2016 election stemmed from a longtime grudge Putin has held against her.
Meanwhile, her campaign chairman, John Podesta, issued a scathing rebuke of the FBI, writing in a Washington Post op-ed that "something is deeply broken" at the bureau.Clinton was addressing donors in New York at a short speech pegged as a "thank you party" at The Plaza Hotel. While Clinton commented on election hacking throughout the close of the 2016 campaign, these were her first comments since the news of Putin's involvement. According to sources who were present, she did not mention President-elect Donald Trump, but her comments reacting to news that the United States intelligence assessment of the 2016 hacking suggests Putin was involved was seen in the room as an implicit knock against the President-elect. One of the sources said Clinton reacted to recent news by saying that she was proud as secretary of state to have defended democracy when confronted by the Russian president. She also said Putin held a grudge against her stemming from Clinton's comments about Russia's 2011 parliamentary elections. Clinton issued a sharp critique of Russia's parliamentary elections as secretary of state, suggesting that the elections were not free and fair. Putin then blamed Clinton for protests that broke out afterward.

I imagine you're wondering: Why is anyone still turning out for speeches by this woman? This was at a so-called thank you party for the people who flushed their money down the toilet trying to bankroll Hillary's fruitless presidential campaign. Apparently they paid for the party with money they could have used running ads in Wisconsin, but never mind that. Do you recall, at any point during the campaign, Hillary touting her confrontational statements in 2011 as one of her achievements as Secretary of State? Do you recall her informing us what a good job she did when she prompted the president of Russia to develop a grudge against her? Neither do I. She was asked plenty to name some real accomplishments in the positions she held, as opposed to claiming that holding the positions themselves was accomplishment enough. She rarely had any answer at all, and she certainly never gave that one. That's because, if it is true, it's not an accomplishment. But more likely it's a total lie. This is classic Hillary all the way. It's like sniper fire in Bosnia, or the YouTube video, or the billing records found behind the couch. But in this case it's tinged with the classic Hillary persecution complex. There are always haters out to get the Clintons! Why shouldn't Putin be one of them? He's about as perfect a villainous figure as you're going to find across the globe, so if you're Hillary and not many people like you, why not emphasize the fact that one of the worst people in the world doesn't like you? When Hillary was trying to attack Trump in the first debate for being too chummy with Putin, wouldn't that have been the perfect time to say, "Putin doesn't like me because I stood up to him on behalf of democracy, and I wear it as a badge of honor"? Where was that then?

I actually can't imagine why Putin would mind Hillary in the White House, given how much the Russians benefited from the stupid "reset" that merely meant the U.S. would no longer challenge Russia's hegemonous ambitions. Unless, of course, Putin knew something about Hillary's obligations vis-a-vis the Clinton Foundation that suggested to him she might do something bellicose to pay off a donor. How long can the left and the media really keep this Russia business up anyway? Do you suppose they're taking it up 10 or 20 notches this weekend as a Hail Mary in advance of the Electoral College vote on Monday? Quixotic as it is, you know darn well that if they think there's any chance at all they can pull out a miracle, they'll try. I sort of hope that's it, because if so then they'll knock it off after Monday and we can get back to serious business. Otherwise it's going to be a long holiday season.
