Whipped into a hurricane by President Obama

Hoopla surrounding transgender people and which bathroom

We don't talk to each other anymore and we don't respect the process that makes our country great.
In my mind, the hoopla surrounding transgender people and which bathroom they use was a tempest in a teapot that was whipped into a hurricane by President Obama. Up until recently, we all used public restrooms. We all used the ones where we fit in. Women and people who looked like women used the women's restroom. Men and people who looked like men used the men's restroom. Everybody was happy (or so it seemed). But coexisting in harmony wasn't enough for some people. They demanded a law, a public proclamation. As soon as that happened, the peace was shattered. Everybody was imagining danger where none had existed before. Others were imagining prejudicial treatment where none had existed before. And, just for the record, the rule was installed by executive order, without the benefit of the process of creating a law through the legislative branch, where law making is supposed to happen. Now, it is being dismantled through that same process. So, no one has any right to complain. If it is necessary to write new law, then let's do it the correct way, not by one person's decree.
