Howard Dean: Republicans 'are not Americans' should go to 'Ukraine or Russia'

Democrats are in trouble. November is shaping up to be a disaster. Even the Politico is admitting that the polling is getting worse, not better, and there doesn't appear to be any easy way for the left to turn it around. So, they're doing what they always do when things don't go their way. They're freaking out, and they're falling back on their long-held belief that "he who screams loudest is the winner."

In order to scream, however, you need something to scream about. They've decided that - despite recent polling that shows as many as 7 in 10 registered voters support it - voter ID is their best hope for a successful wedge issue. Last week, Howard Dean appeared at a fundraiser for Colorado Congressional candidate Andrew Romanoff, where he went off on one of his now-famous unhinged tirades. The man who's best known for his catchphrase "EEEeeeeeeeeyaaaaarrrggghhh!" thinks that Republican support for voter ID is unconscionable. In fact, he says that Republicans are "not American" and believes that they would feel more at home in Russia or the Ukraine.
"This country has been sold down the river for their own purposes! This is a Republican party that has decided they like power so much that they think it's OK to win by taking away the right to vote! They are not American! They would be more comfortable in the Ukraine, or Russia, but stay away from our country!"
So, how did the crowd feel about Howard Dean's decision to eschew the "new civility" in favor of another foamy-mouthed scream fest? They're the faithful. They ate it up. Sadly, the event was still an abject failure because Dean's not quite the grass roots liberal rockstar he used to be. According to a report at The Examiner:
The audience, consisting of about 40 people, mostly reporters and Democratic Party staffers, responded warmly to Dean's comments, applauding and cheering.
Yeah, that's right. 40 staffers and reporters. I've seen bigger "crowds" in the waiting room of a Jiffy Lube. Oh, and just because we can..... "Asked to comment on his remarks, Howard Dean had this to say:"
