In call with donors, Hillary blames Comey for her defeat

Talk about ingratitude. The guy who let her off the hook not once, but twice, for committing multiple felonies apparently didn't do enough for Hillary Clinton. In a call with donors on Saturday, the woman who ran the worst presidential campaign in the history of the United States asserted that James Comey was responsible for her defeat:
Clinton told her supporters on Saturday that her team had drafted a memo that looked at the changing opinion polls leading up to the election and that the letter from Comey proved to be a turning point. She said Comey's decision to go public with the renewed examination of her email server had caused an erosion of support in the upper Midwest, according to three people familiar with the call.
Clinton lost in Wisconsin, the first time since 1984 that the state favored the Republican candidate in a presidential election. Although the final result in Michigan has still not been tallied, it is leaning Republican, in a state that last favored the Republican nominee in 1988. Comey sent a letter to Congress only days before the election announcing that he was reinstating an investigation into whether Clinton mishandled classified information when she used a private email server while secretary of state from 2009 to 2012. Comey announced a week later that he had reviewed emails and continued to believe she should not be prosecuted, but the political damage was already done. Clinton told donors that Trump was able to seize on both of Comey's announcements and use them to attack her, according to two participants on the call. While the second letter cleared her of wrongdoing, Clinton said that it reinforced to Trump's supporters that the system was rigged in her favor and motivated them to mobilize on Election Day.

This woman is nothing if not consistent - consistently brazen, that is. The reason the second letter "reinforced to Trump supporters that the system was rigged in her favor" was that it was rigged in her favor, and the second letter was merely the latest evidence of it. If Hillary didn't want the FBI's investigation of her crimes to hamper her campaign, she might have tried - oh, I don't know - not committing the crimes in the first place. She might have considered not setting up a sham "charity" that was nothing more than a mechanism for the Clintons to accept bribes from foreign governments in return for the promise of favors once Hillary became president. Speaking of which, what does Hillary say to all the kings, sheikhs and emirs who have been bankrolling her lifestyle these past several years now that she will not be in a position to pay them off? Maybe she blames Comey for that too. And I wonder how many of the donors on that conference call were expecting something out of the deal themselves. My guess would be all of them, because the only reason you give money to the Clintons is because you understand the game is pay-to-play when they're running it. James Comey was the best friend Hillary had this past year, but even he couldn't whitewash her crimes sufficiently to save her. Now he's the one to blame for her defeat? You know it was going to be someone other than Hillary herself. It always is.
