So why won't he fight?

John Boehner says he's the most conservative, anti-establishment Speaker ever!

John Boehner is upset. For some reason, conservatives have decided that he doesn't want to stand up for anything, won't fight the administration, and is attacking Republicans rather than doing battle with the other side of the aisle. This perception, it seems, really hurts his feelings.

So, Boehner is demanding you give him the right-wing street cred he feels he deserves. He made his case yesterday, and uploaded his remarks to his YouTube channel.
“During my years here when I voted, I had the eighth most conservative voting record in the Congress. ...And it does pain me to be described as spineless or a squish.”
Got it? He's not spineless. You should know this now, because he told you. Oh, and he's not part of the GOP establishment, either!
“And I tell you what pains me the most is when they describe me as the establishment. Now, I’m the most anti-establishment speaker we’ve ever had. Who was the guy that got rid of earmarks? Who's the guy who believes in regular order? Me. Who believes in allowing more members to participate in the process from both sides of the aisle? Me. I’m pretty comfortable in my own skin and I’m going to do my best to show all of our members, Democrats and Republicans - and those members who voted against me - that I’m up to the job I was given.”
So remember, everyone. When you see a terrifyingly tan John Boehner give Nancy Pelosi a creepy kiss on the cheek; you're witnessing the actions of a tough, not-squishy, not-spineless, anti-establishment conservative.
