Leave me alone and don’t involve me in your UNION demands.

Listen up, Union people. YOU do NOT represent Albertans. Premier Kenney and all the MLA’s do

On the radio Sunday it was reported there was a protest of union members being held at the legislature (as per the info from the radio) against Bill 1. The spokesperson claimed that this Bill would infringe on their rights to protest, their charter rights, and freedom to protest wherever they deemed most effective to set-up-shop (like a railroad maybe?). After making those claims, the spokesperson said that they were protesting because “that is what Albertans want.” I nearly jumped out of my car in absolute anger. Listen up, Union people. YOU do NOT represent Albertans. Premier Kenney and all the MLA’s do through a democratic vote. Unions represent ‘members’ who have their own laws or policies but these do NOT dictate what ALBERTANS say or want. How dare you even suggest that ‘that is what Albertans want!’ As there was NO other NON Union persons speaking to this issue, I felt the need to clarify this point. I support Bill 1 because it protects me, a NON Union member, from being subjected to screams, signs and blockage of going to work or commerce to move or heckles so they can force their union issues for their OWN benefit, NOT Albertans. They can just stay where their place of work is AND/OR refuse to work, but leave me alone and don’t involve me in your UNION demands.
