So the new standard of excellence is Jeffrey Dahmer?

Lois Lerner claims she's not as bad as Jeffrey Dahmer - Issa wants her to say it under oath

Lois Lerner is not sorry. If she is to be believed, she "didn’t do anything wrong." The disgraced IRS official claims that she can be "proud of my career and the job I did for this country.” That's because, she says, “Regardless of whatever else happens, I know I did the best I could under the circumstances and am not sorry for anything I did.”
All of these revelations appear in her new not-under-oath interview with the left-wing website of choice, The Politico. As the site reports:
Employers won’t hire her. She’s been berated with epithets like “dirty Jew.” Federal agents have guarded her house because of death threats. And she’s spent hundreds of thousands of dollars defending herself against accusations she orchestrated a cover-up in a scandal that has come to represent everything Americans hate about the IRS. Lois Lerner is toxic — and she knows it. But she refuses to recede into anonymity or beg for forgiveness for her role in the IRS tea party-targeting scandal.

In fact, Lerner says, things have gotten so bad that she receives mountains of hate mail. She claims that her "favorite" missive stated that she would “go down in history as the worst person ever in the United States.” Lerner took the insult in stride, joking that she had to be better than someone. “I just thought, ‘Boy, worse than Jeffrey Dahmer?’” Yes, you read that right. Lois Lerner is taking solace in the fact that she's managed to clear the incredibly high bar of not being worse than a cannibalistic mass murderer who, in his later years, also engaged in acts of necrophilia. Even for the IRS, that's a new low in terms of "defining success." The Politico notes that Lerner refused to answer any questions regarding her alleged crimes. As they put it:
She studiously avoided answering fundamental questions about her role in the IRS scandal that could land her in deeper trouble with Congress. During her POLITICO interview, flanked by her husband, a partner at a national law firm, and two of her personal attorneys, she opened up about her life as a pariah, joked about horrible news photos and advice that she disguise herself with a blond wig, and cried when expressing gratitude for her legal team’s friendship.
Instead, Lerner decided to stick with to the personal toll the investigation had taken on her life. In other words, the whole thing was essentially worthless, since no one cares about how "tough" things have been for poor, poor, Lois. Among the people who aren't particularly concerned with the IRS official's personal problems since pleading the fifth is Darrel Issa. He wants to know why Lerner is running around granting media interviews, while she continues to stonewall Congress. He released the following statement about the Politico piece:
“The American people deserve the opportunity to hear Lois Lerner’s testimony under oath. If Lerner had nothing to hide and did nothing wrong in the IRS targeting scandal, she would have chosen to answer basic questions about her conduct instead of obstructing Congress’ investigation. Her decision to make unsubstantiated claims to a media outlet while claiming Fifth Amendment protections from answering Congress’ questions is telling. She appears to have great confidence that her allies in the Obama Administration will not consider legal action after she resigned and declined to discuss the IRS’ actions against private citizens.”
...And, of course, it's that last line that gets to the heart of the matter. As long as no one is willing to hold her accountable, why shouldn't she live a little? After all, as long as Obama and Holder are in office, it's pretty clear that she will face no repercussions for her actions.
