Dear Sirs: CTV has posted a news item that infuriates me to NO end. A MADE IN CANADA drug that is already HC approved is sitting on shelves in pharmaceuticals across Canada, unused. The drug is bamlanivimab which must be administered by intravenous. Although that is less convenient that a ‘pill’ to ‘pop’, it is a drug being used around the world but not here in Canada. It is also a part of the drug cocktail that X-Pres Trump received that was part of his ‘amazing’ recovery.
The very fact that bamlanivimab keeps people OUT of hospitals, reduces Covid deaths and its symptoms, far out weighs its cost. I feel that Health Canada has dropped the ball along with Liberal members involved with the Health Canada portfolio. The drug ivermectin is another example of a drug sitting on shelves that also fights the Covid virus but NOT used in Canada. I don’t understand how our health is being compromised by the very agency that is supposed to protect us by giving ONLY pharmaceutical vaccines the exclusive right to be used against Covid-19. There are other options in medication to fight Covid yet the support is NOT there. Also, when Minister Hajdu tells Canadians that Vitamin D is not necessary to take to help against Covid infections is treasonous. The documentation/research on the need to boost our Vitamin D is irrefutable in the discovery that it reduces Covid symptoms. She should be replaced immediately for her misconduct on playing ‘doctor’. Time to challenge this outrageous lack of support for Canadians’ choices and rights to medications. Regards, L. G. Anderson
