"We're talking about no further sales of assault weapons. What is the justification for an assault weapon? No further sales of those, no further sales of the increased capacity, 30 rounds in a gun. We're talking about background checks - which is very popular, even among gun owners, and, hunters. We avow the First Amendment. We stand with that and say that people have a right to have a gun to protect themselves in their homes and their jobs, whereever, and that they--and their workplace--and that they, for recreation for hunting and the rest. So we're not questioning their right to do that."This just in: Nancy Pelosi thinks it's OK to bring a gun to your workplace. Of course, even if she'd managed to "avow" the correct Amendment, she'd still be completely wrong in her claim that the 2nd Amendment has anything to do with hunting. This is the second time in recent memory that Nancy has had trouble remembering what's in our founding document. Back in November, a reporter asked her about Obama's non-existent ability to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling. Pelosi answered, "Well, I'm with the 11th Amendment, so... or is it the 11th Amendment that, uh.....14th is it? Whatever it is, I'm with the Constitution of the United States." Super. Pelosi also took the time to remind the country that our government doesn't have a spending problem. According to the Congresswoman, we have a "budget deficit" problem. We just need more taxes. ....and apparently a budget. Or maybe we need more jobs. Or education. Or science. Or something. Here's the clip, but be warned. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
