Recently, our forum has been besieged with questions about cancer. Here are some facts that may well be of interest to you.

The American Cancer Society spends only 5% of its budget on prevention education for the public. Yet for more than 25 billion dollars in donations, we are badly losing the war against cancer. Most experts have, in fact, changed their cancer focus from finding a cure to ‘life management’. If for the past two decades the focus has been on finding a cure and that has not been successful, why not shift the focus to prevention or objectively researching some alternative or integrative technologies? If you keep doing what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten. In this case, we are getting much worse.

Every day about 160 Canadians and 1,500 Americans die from cancer. Cancer kills twice as many North Americans in 1 year (+600,000) than WW II did in 6 years.

Of doctors in Ontario, Canada that were surveyed, more than 80% were found to recommend the three traditional approaches to healing cancer (chemotherapy, surgery and radiation). However, of that same group of doctors, more than 60% would not recommend any of those three methods for themselves or their families.
Certain forms of radiation therapy are known to both kill healthy cells while expediting the growth of new cancer cells in an individual. Chemotherapy and radiation both severely weaken an individual's immune system, allowing it to be more susceptible to the original cancer, secondary cancers and other diseases as well.

Surgery as a cancer treatment option often leads to the spreading of cancer cells within the body, leading to a recurrent need for surgery, radiation or chemotherapy as cancer frequently reappears in the body.

Chemotherapy injects toxic chemicals into the weakened body of a cancer patient. If the level of toxins is greater than the body can handle, the patient often dies from chemotherapy, not from the cancer. More people die from the effects of this treatment than from the disease itself. Some forms of chemotherapy actually cause cancer. One of the chemicals used to treat breast cancer (tamoxifen) has been established as causing uterine cancer.

Dateline – 1994, University of Victoria radiologist presented research showing that mammograms expose women to the same levels of radiation as 100 chest x-rays. Dateline- 2001, All Major Canadian Newspapers run front page headlines that the Canadian Medical Association recommends that doctors stop teaching women to do self breast exams in favor of more frequent and earlier mammograms.

Over 1 million patients are injured in US hospitals each year with approximately 280,000 deaths annually from these injuries. This is called an IATROGENIC (doctor caused) death rate. This death rate is about equal to 3 loaded jumbo jets crashing and killing everyone aboard…. Every 2 days.

We believe that new approaches to medicine and health are needed…. badly. We believe that these new approaches can bring about profound changes in both the way you are treated and the way you respond to illnesses. A closed mind (either within the medical community or within the individual) could be likened to a stagnant pond that needs a fresh flowing spring to be restored to a vibrant existence. May your mind be open to new possibilities? That’s not rocket science, its common sense. But remember, if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always done.
