Sighting Down On The Second Amendment

Before a people are enslaved, before any nation is taken over, they are first disarmed. That's just history and common sense. From the inside or out, a nation is always first compromised by the removal of its ability to defend itself. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, et al., they all declawed whatever organism that stood in their way - most especially the people they intended to govern. When Japan was planning to attack our mainland, their Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto purportedly said that attacking America would be like attacking a sleeping giant - and it is commonly claimed that he warned there would be a gun waiting for them 'behind every blade of grass' - indeed, a very reasonable statement. I find it fascinating that online liberal 'fact checking' sites adamantly insist that the quote is "bogus". Further, they go on to say that gun rights activists often haul up that quote in order to drive home an argument for gun ownership - as though simply expressing that concept in such a context were evil.

Gun ownership is entirely about self defense

The argument for unfettered gun ownership comes naturally, supports itself, and is entirely righteous. Every year in this nation, medical malpractice takes more lives than do guns. It is estimated that between 800,000 to 2,000,000 deaths are prevented annually by guns - both in the hands of law enforcement as well as individual gun owners. Guns, in and of themselves, pose no threat to anyone but are regularly vilified by professional politicians who won't themselves give up their own guns or the guns of their hired protection. The Second Amendment of the Constitution guaranteeing every American citizen's right to arm himself with firepower was considered to be the second most important right by the framers - preceded only by our right to express the opinions we hold as sacred and defendable. It is not surprising that both those amendments are the most hated by the liberal left and its partnering spokespeople the liberal media. The Second Amendment was not adopted to ensure our ability to hunt for food. Nor did it have anything to do with sportsmanship or target practice. Gun ownership is entirely about self defense. And, in the case of the intent of the framers who had just escaped the tyranny of England's monarchy, the Second Amendment was absolutely provided for the people to be able to defend themselves against tyrannical and runaway government. And this is why the potentially tyrannical and runaway, professional political leaders of today jump at any chance to take guns away from law-abiding Americans. Only hours after the recent bloodbath in Las Vegas, liberal left politicians were instant to make gun control statements, before even offering any sympathy to the bereft surviving friends and family members of the victims of that crowd. The bodies of the dead from that massacre had not even been entirely identified and next of kin notified, before the liberal left politicians vaingloriously marched down the steps of our Capitol building in DC and declared yet another war against gun ownership.

Almost without exception, the mass-murdering shooters of the late 20th and 21st century here in America have been leftist politically or left-leaning Islamist terrorists

It is remarkably noteworthy that, almost without exception, the mass-murdering shooters of the late 20th and 21st century here in America have been leftist politically or left-leaning Islamist terrorists. The nut-jobs of cultic liberalism or progressive socialist ideology do all the murdering. And then their political leaders vilify and strain to penalize and put additional controls on the conservative and often Christian gun owners who do no violence to anyone. Indeed, the ancient bumper sticker that was so popular back in the late 60s early 70s - "WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS" - has never been anything less than 100% true. Whether the outlaw is coming through your backdoor as a burglar/rapist/murderer, or the outlaw is coming through your front door as a 21st century storm trooper in the employ of a government that has just declared itself to be your overseer and landlord, a gun can serve as the only voice of protest either might hear. And both of those culprits are absolutely aware of that. The liberal media and liberal left are currently up on their haunches, fighting tooth and nail to push back the unforgivable insubordination of the majority of Americans who are being reintroduced to the power afforded them through our Constitution. The framers, I don't believe, ever envisioned the extent of liberty that scrap of parchment would provide for the recovering remnant of righteousness in days as evil as these. And President Donald Trump is the target of unbelievable contempt from the left that thought the end of Constitutional America was finally in sight. Few seem to recall how our last chief executive, America's first and worst black president, had declared our Constitution to be an outdated drag that had served its purpose. And he once joked that the people who had written our Constitution obviously hadn't planned on cooperating with the changes he had in mind for our nation. All the while he and his wife were, in eight years of hate-filled speeches, bolting together a race-hate Frankenstein that is only now beginning to walk. They were words that oozed easily from that devil's brood of smooth-tongued snakes who knew they were talking to a fragmented and distracted audience.

In a free society, the only control gained from 'Gun Control' will be the terminal upperhand given to the elite few who want selfishly to control us all.

Our sleepy preoccupation had allowed all sorts of scandal and treachery - from Benghazi, to 'e-mailgate', to the Iran nuke deal including pallets of cash shipped secretly to the turbaned friends of that regime. And the cancer of that administration, along with the monstrous enabling liberal media/entertainment industry, thought they finally had a stranglehold on the America they were sure they controlled. Hillary started drinking her victory champagne way too early on that election eve flight to NYC. But that night it was only God's grace that gave us another four years to keep those wolves and cobras at bay. As I have said so many times before, if the liberal slime (who are now feverishly romancing the naïve youth of our nation) ever again fully get their hooks and fangs into our governmental infrastructure, America as we have known it will be only a fond memory. But, in the meantime, it is obvious that the leftists are wanting no guns waiting for them when they finally undo the mistake they made in allowing a President Donald Trump to interrupt their takeover. Protecting ourselves is not a conservative fantasy. It is a God-given mandate. The gift of being able to - WITH THE PULL OF THE TRIGGER - stop bloodthirsty wickedness from ravaging the precious pearls of our faith, love and sweaty labor, can certainly be part of the assignment God gave us as stewards of the liberty we have in Christ. (Luke 22:36, Psalm 82:4, Psalm 144:1, Matt. 7:6, etc.) It is our vulnerable liberty that, like a shining light, allows us to care for our children and openly be the example that God has called us to be. The devil's battle to take away the bullet, the only ballot that our own corrupt government or an invading one cannot ignore, is truly the last ground in a fight the corrupt political forces in this nation know they must capture. And, as they have shown us to date, the likes of a George Soros, Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton - our adversaries who are making the world safe for themselves - don't play by the rules when the rules don't work in their favor. In a free society, the only control gained from 'Gun Control' will be the terminal upperhand given to the elite few who want selfishly to control us all. NOW is the unreturning time to rally in support of our President who wants to preserve our Constitution. And with our every opportunity and vote, let us work to preserve our right to defend ourselves. The Second Amendment is worthy of our defense. It is there to defend us. Don't ever lose sight of that.
