QUEEN’S PARK – “Unfortunately, today Wrigley Canada announced it will be closing the doors to their factory in Toronto and moving production to the United States.

Wrigley Canada have been steadfast employers of Ontarians for over a century. But sadly they have become another casualty of Liberal policies that drive the cost of doing business in this province higher and higher. Now, 383 more hardworking people and families will be forced to look for new opportunities in this province’s ever-shrinking manufacturing industry. It seems every month we hear of another factory closing, and while we wish this would be the last as the Liberals are set to introduce a carbon tax, we fear it is just the first of many more companies closing up shop and moving from Ontario. We firmly believe we can bring back those 300,000 lost manufacturing jobs by reducing taxes, the red tape burden on businesses, and getting hydro rates and government spending under control.”
